Talk about going from one big salary to another with Huet too. They get rid of Khabby and still have Huet's monstrous 5.625 until 2012-2013. Good luck getting rid of that contract. I like Huet, but not for that much.

Now's the time to help themselves out a little, then they can look at helping themselves out a lot at the draft if they want to wait that long.

Would need way more than that.
At least 3 forwards in the 3-4M range have to go and replaced by 1M dudes.
Then Barker and Sopel replaced by 1M dudes.
Then they still have to find 4-5 1M players to fill the roster...

I was just referring to the rationale for acquiring McKee.

For sure, they need to do something. Unfortunately for them, they're going to have to get rid of someone they don't want to part with. Unless they can trade Campbell and his monster contract, or Buff or Huet... Sharp over here please!!!

I did just notice that Madden is a UFA after this season. That's 2.75 off the books. That might pretty well do it.

Madden off the books brings them to 57.9...still not enough. Wow, what a freaking mess they got themselves into.

Barker, Versteeg and probably Sopel are all gonzo this summer.
Actually, Barker will go as soon as Chicago finds a sucker team to take

This is assuming Khabibulin goes on LTIR.

Done for the year and career in jeopardy. The cap hit DOES NOT come off because he was 35+ when he signed.
