Either way, I agree that the present team is just not deep enough to compete, and a few injuries really emphasize that point.

Hockey has evolved pretty nicely, there are a lot of good players now that you can get in the first round, and even in the second.
Talking about 1st rounders, there some pretty nice forwards between 10 and 20 for this year's draft. We will get our share of the meat.

I've been waiting for the sens to do this for years - love it. They've rarely fought to the end when getting the snot kicked out of them and having a teammate go down.

Who's next?

Nice to see the team pull together when their captain goes down. GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ Pittsburgh Penguins - 7:00pm ET - Wed. Dec. 23rd, 2009 - Page 12 489887

I'm at work...I noticed in the Boston game that we looked like a hard working team with no skill. Was it more of the same tonight, but also minus Alfie?

NO HEART, sorry Shannon you tried to rebound after getting brushed to the side by Malkin but it was an example of a being pushed around without pushing back...Sorry Donovan you should have just started throwing the hay makers with Cooke. Now its twice Alfie goes down and the team does NOTHING. Hmmmmm, whats up with that. Need to get more size and nastiness

This team is nasty enough, we need some skill - unless magically this team can play a grinding style with Alfie gone. It'll be really hard to score goals though and Leclaire will have to be unconscious. The prospect of scoring 2 goals in the next 4 games really, REALLY makes me nervous.

I never thought the Sens would win tonight, but I never thought it would be this bad. I think that once it got to 4-1 the team just knew that they weren't going to win. They started well, but why they got into a run and gun game with Pittsburgh, I'll never understand.

Carkner punched Adams square in the face, Neil fought. Not sure what else we were gonna do. I guess Winchester and Fisher could have instigated a couple more fights, but I think we responded okay physically. Unfortunately we shat everywhere mentally and in the skill area.

47 shots, that doesn't sound so bad. What's the word on Alfredsson's injury?

"Weeks." Says Alfredsson. "Serious injury...not looking good." Says Clouston.

2 months sounds about right. But that's a guess. Same time as Spezza I would imagine, right after the Olympics.
