Injuries - a list

Should we put all injuries on this thread? It's pretty relevant IMO.

So if you hear of an injury, plaster it in here (and for how long according to reports).

You might as well add JFJ being hired by San Jose. That's got to be amental injury to someone in the upstairs suite.

And let's not forget Alfie. He was a last minute scratch Saturday night, right?

I'm considering Alfie as day-to-day, the other guys are substantial amounts of time.

Actually, I think it's a good hire. JFJ does make a very good scout and was responsible for identifying a lot of good young talent for the Leafs. He just sucks as a GM. Scouting is where he should stay for a while.

But it's not clear what, exactly, he will be doing. "Director of Pro Scouting" yet McGuire was pretty adamant that he would not be "running" the scouting department (I don't recall the name of the guy who would, but he's been doing it in SJ for ever). And then as "director" you'd think he would not be actually doing any scouting himself.

You're right, though, he sucked as GM, but it may have been also a little tampering from the pension board of directors. As bad as he was, the Leafs may do worse with Burke.

I hadn't realized this was the golf-cart incident, wasn't it? At the time didn't they say something like 2 weeks and he wouldn't miss the regular season start?

I would like to think that STL would exhaust ALL avenues before they are to go crawling to Burke for help (i.e. Schneider).

I dunno... it looks like Schneider can be had not just for a song, but for a really awful Celine Dion song.

If Burke will sweeten the pot by adding a draft pick or by taking a small, unwanted contract off STL's hands, I can't imagine why they wouldn't do it. Losing EJ like this really devastates their blueline.

Big opportunity for Alex Pietrangelo, tho'.
