Dash wrote:Why would have needed another defensive defenceman in Zanon? Seriously, our lack of moving the puck on the back end and scoring from the blue line is the problem.

What the Sens should have done is never let Chara go. All they've done since is try to find someone to replace the offense we used to have (Preissing, Corvo, Picard, Campoli, Kuba, etc.) None of them have nor ever will add up to what he is.

Don't get us started... Damn you Muckler General Hockey Talk - Injuries, signings, factoids + other news from around the league - Page 45 555492

More injuries and illness around the league, updated by Paul Kukla:

In (Pittsburgh’s) most recent health setback, it was announced Thursday that defenseman Brooks Orpik will be out of the lineup for the next two weeks with a lower-body injury.

Wings goalie Chris Osgood and forward Kirk Maltby have the flu and will miss Thursday night’s game against the Vancouver Canucks at Joe Louis Arena.

@Spez> Like Robby said, Whitney has an NTC.

Why do you think Rutherford wants any of the players you mentioned? He needs something to re-launch his team, not players you want to conveniently eject from the Sens' roster.

That's a lot. Lee and a 2nd for a rental. I doubt Carolina gets that much at the deadline. No one's gonna give Carolina something of equal value, it's gotta be picks/prospects/young roster players.

@Spez>Lee is an RFA in June. Why would Rutherford want him?

And Whitney has an NTC. He'd have to approve the trade.

Sorry, Spez, you haven't passed GM 101 yet.

I thought I heard something during tonight's game that Volchy had a set back?

@Dash>there was a report this morning on Team1200 Radio that Volchenkov is going to be out another two weeks or so...apparently he still has significant pain even when just passing the puck.

Thanks for the update. I am not surprised really, he dislocated his elbow afterall, not something you bounce back quickly from.

Latest on Rick DiPietro from Paul Kukla and The New York Post:

With the Islanders in Carolina, preparing to play yet another game without their franchise goalie tonight, Rick DiPietro was working out at Iceworks in Syosset yesterday, still likely at least a month away from his return to an NHL game.

Could Afinaganov get more points in one game than Kovalev has all year? He currently has 4 in the 2nd period. Facepalm

Freaky Friday!

Atlanta thrashes the Kings, Knuble knocked out with a busted digit, Tavares gets his first toonie, and Slick Rick Nash scores a wild and crazy shootout goal.

And that is one of the many reasons Rick Nash is my favourite.

That's hilarious. Hiller fell for that hook, line and sinker.

Haha a beauty... Nash admitted that he lost his balance and still was able to pot it in what a player.

5-2 Final. Leafs deserved a better fate. Kiprusoff was exceptional.

Alex Goligoski joins the list of ailing Penguins, reported by Paul Kukla:

The Penguins’ parade of injuries continue, now with word from the Penguins that defenseman Alex Goligoski will be out 2-3 weeks with a lower-body injury.

Newly recalled defenseman Nate Guenin will replace Goligoski in the lineup.
