At least the CLB management won't feel like they got robbed in a few years.

And in California, Kopitar has taken the lead in scoring. 19 points in 11 games General Hockey Talk - Injuries, signings, factoids + other news from around the league - Page 21 240686

No surprise here. This kid is a super-superstar. It's too bad we passed up on him all those drafts ago...what a stupid Diddling decision.

I think it's surprising. He actually regressed pretty significantly last season.

I think he'll cool off like Semin did after his hot start last season.

Too early to be calling him a superstar IMO.

But what about a super-superstar? General Hockey Talk - Injuries, signings, factoids + other news from around the league - Page 21 754246

In other news around the league, Kovalchuk seems to have suffered a leg injury and left the game last night.

Cammalleri had a hattrick against New York and van Riemsdyk and TJ Galiardi both had their first goals.

All these terms are pretty subjective.

He has the potential to be really, really good. He's younger than Ovechkin or Malkin, let's remember.

But, it's going to take more than 11 games to convince me.

Actually, Semin was a bad comparison, though, because he didn't really "cool off" so much as get injured. He still ended up with 79 points in 62 games, which gets him up over the 100 point mark over a full season. I'l wait for a playoff performance before saying something close to that.

I was just checking up on our old buddy, Martin Gerber. He's 7-6-1 with a .916 SV% and 2.04 GAA --decent, if unspectacular numbers. His backup has a SV% of only .871 and a GAA of 2.92. So it would appear that Gerber's safe for now.

Good ol' Gerbs. Good for him. I hope he has a solid remainder of a career in the KHL.

I don't now if this qualifies as injury or not, but Regin and Karlsson, amongst others, haven't been skating with the team recently.

It seems the flu is going around the locker-room.

Yeah, flu does seem to be running around... not good at all. Remember the "FLU GAME" vs the Leafs?

Bad memories...

TSN's Power Rankings have finally been updated. Sens dropped from 10 to 12:

A couple of extra-time losses last week (one in OT, on via SO), and the
Sens can deal with Alex Kovalev's slow start (four points in nine
games) thanks to a winning record and Milan Michalek (six goals in five
games) heating up.

Buffalo is the new top-dog.

I don't get how Chicago and Vancouver, with all of the injuries they're going through are above Ottawa.

But then again, I don't know a lot of things. I'm surprised that Toronto isn't in the top 20... the TO media just can't rationalize it I guess.

The Toronto media is awful. That's why I dont read that crap.

It's going to take Ottawa running the table in October AND getting Kuba back. Throw in some offense from Kovalev and the Sens might just barely crack top 10. I just don't get it but it's power rankings so it shouldn't get me this worked up but it does. Ottawa fan's care too much about what others think, lol. Toronto was ranked ahead of The Sens and slotted as a playoff team before the season started... really, who cares?

Honestly, though, we lost two games to teams struggling through injuries to main players. We behaved like a .500 team and dropped from 10 to 12. I think that's fair, no?
