K.H.L. Opener to Be Shown Live on League Web Site

September 11, 2009/The New York Times

The opening game of the K.H.L. regular season, a rematch of last season’s Gagarin Cup final between Lokomotiv Yaroslavl and champions Ak Bars Kazan, will be carried live on Thursday (September 12) over the K.H.L. Web site, the league announced today. The webcast will originate from Tatneft Arena in Kazan starting at 11 a.m. Eastern.

And for those of you wondering, the Gagarin Cup is named after Yuri Gagarin -- a test pilot in the U.S.S.R. and the first man in space.
