If that's the case, I want Cheechoo AND Marleau, we'll give them Smith and Schubert. It'll be a pretty even trade cap wise, and we'll bring in two legitimate top 6 guys and give us a lineup of:

Cheechoo-Spezza-Kovalev
Winchester-Marleau-Alfredsson
Foligno-Fisher-Shannon
Ruutu-Bass-Neil

What to do with Kelly is an interesting scenario. We might have to trade him for some prospects. It'll suck to part with him, but man- that lineup gives me shivers.

That's a pretty big step up for Winchester. You think he's up to it?

I would expect them to add Couture and take Kelly instead of Smith personally.

So...

Heatley, Kelly and Schubert

for

Marleau, Cheechoo and Couture (perhaps a second rounder as well.)

That sounds about right to me. We are not going to get a steal here Whatever way you slice it and I think there is a strong desire to rid ourselves of Heatley despite what is said publicly.

I think Jordo likes them chemistry from the FFS line. Otherwise Foligno looked to be coming into his own for a top-six role under Clouston.

Nailed it... It's more of a 2A/2B line combination. I am Foligno's biggest fan, believe me. He absolutely deserves a top 6 role, and I think we can roll with these 3 lines and use the checking line sparingly.

Not to mention Winchester is on a 1-way contract... So we might as well use him... he looked good when he had the opportunity last year.

Winchester needs to continue developing and he showed some mighty impressive flashes of where his game is going in the last few games of the season last year.

His place is on the 3rd line and on the PK, IMO. Too good for the 4th and not quite ready for the 2nd.

That's what I was saying, except that I had Cheechoo on the Fisher-Foligno line, leaving Kovy on the LW top line.

I think you need to put him with playmakers though. Guys who can feed him DIRTY passes. Spezza fits that bill, and so does Kovalev. I think that would be a solid, solid line.

Does Cheechoo have grit, though? Who on that line will go into the corner to pry the puck away from a defenseman? Who will playing wrecking ball 40% of the time that Spezza loses the face off and they need to get it back?

Wow, Chirp just reported that Buffalo offered Derek Roy, Dan Paille and Tyler Myers. Too bad Heatley will never go there. Imagine Tyler Myers joining our D core for the coming years?

Good mother of christ.

I would have never dared mention Tyler Myers as part of deal. I heard enough laughter from my ex-girlfriends when we were in the sack.

Holy Dung, if this is true, Bryan Murray should accept and then put it in the hands of Heatley. Heater will say no, but still. Amazing deal for Ottawa, best deal yet.

I would love to see that trade happen between us and the Sabres but there is no way Heatley will accept it, though he did have a good relationship with Ruff. The ante seems to have been raised and we can only hope that this is over by the weekend so we can finally be done with all of this and the management at SBP can pull his face off the front of SBP. I want to see Kovie up there. :___:

Repeat post from yesterday: Why bother Buffalo - Good Luck getting Heatley, you could offer Vanek, Pominville and Roy - you would still not get Heatley.

To compare Buffalo putting in an offer would be the same as me walking into and a Ferrari dealership and looking at a Ferrari Enzo.

Everyones feelings are bound to get hurt.
