Caps trade Keith Seabrook to the Flames

Just saw this on TSN...

ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Washington Capitals have traded defeceman Keith Seabrook to the Calgary Flames for future considerations.

Seabrook was taken by Washington in the second round of the 2006 NHL entry draft.

He played with the WHL's Calgary Hitmen the last two seasons.

I won't lie, I Dung my pants just now, I thought it was the real Seabrook to the Flames.

Ha me too when I first saw the title, a quick re-read and I realized it was the Caps involved.

:^^^^: Plus, it all fits. They're dead serious in Chicago. At least one of Sharp, Byfulglien, Barker or Versteeg is being traded - and soon.

Stan Bowman has come out and said he is not planning on any big roster shakeups right now, he likes the roster he has, so apparently no one is going to be traded, are they beneath the cap?

Not bad...55 pts in 64 games. Looks like they are thinking towards the future of offensive defensemen on their blueline. I read that he accepted a scholarship to DU for next year.

Wonder if they pair him up with Patty W.

Wow, interesting. And he has skills too. I think this is a no risk, interesting pick up for the Flames, unless the player to be named later is someone good.

Yeah, I wonder who or what is coming back to the Capitals. They don't exactly need a guy like Seabrook with Alzner and Carlson still in their prospect pool.

That might be the thing, yeah. Maybe there's just no spot for him. Like Zubov for us potentially.

Imagine if it was Brent Seabrook? Phaneuf, Bouwmeester, Seabrook.... shudder....

Another look and you might even think it was Keith and Seabrook.....
