Heatley is 100% gone, wouldnt worry.

When was the last time Kovalev scored 39 goals? He has averaged about 65 points over the last four years.
A good signing, he is a legitimate top six forward who could wreak havon on our PP.

Neely4Life wrote:Penner was a beast on a line with Perry and Getzlaf, and like I said about a month ago, he could find his way into the 50 point club on that top line.
If that Oilers deal goes down, we are in really good shape.
Yep, I pretty much think so too. I wonder now if it could be some kind of San Jose deal. I really can't see any other deal than to Edmonton, but he's gone.Neely4Life wrote:rooneypoo wrote:Now $2 mil over the cap... we've got some work to do now!

I'm not as skeptical about Penner as most. I find it a little offensive to see scenarios that have Cogliano, a playmaking center, playing wing on the 3rd line while "Fish" Diddle up our second line as usual at center.

He had 6 points less than Heatley last year, AND he had 35 goals the year before that playing with nothing even remotely close to any of the big three in Ottawa.
To say that he can't easily hit 35G/70PTS this year might be a stretch.

Or Karlsson even at 1.5.

Heatley had a terrible year last year.
As I stated Kovalev has averaged 65 points over the last four years, the year he scored 35 in Montreal was his highest since the 2000-2001 season.
I owuld not expect him to replace Heater's production, that will need to be done by committee.
I don't mind the sigining but to say he can easily hit 75 points may be setting yourself up for disappointment.
You could be right, but I get the feeling that it will happen fast. Now that things have quieted down on that front, they can work on it without it being top news.SpezDispenser wrote:jamvan wrote:Yep, I pretty much think so too. Yeah? I still don't think he's going anywhere right now. I might be wrong, but I just can't see it.
