I'm not opposed to RPG style games though.

What I would ove to see is a new GTA style game (not LA Noire) set in a Game of Thrones type environment.

And a GTA style Zombie game. Not like Dead Rising, and not like L4D. But complete free roam, not "Monsters", just regular zombies. Make it so you can secure safe houses, meet up with others but also go on your own if you wish. Undead Redemption was sort of cool, but they had too many monster-type zombies.

They are working on a Game of Thrones game. There is one out already, but I believe they are working on a new one.

As for other GTA style open world games, I love those too. Red Dead Redemption was an absolutely superb game. I really like Batman Arkham City too, it's cool, and there is a lot in there, but I prefer Red Dead.

Rockstar's next game is going to be Max Payne 3 though. Never really liked the series, but I'll probably give it a try considering I have really enjoyed the last few Rockstar games.

GTA V is coming next year I think. They have a trailer for it.

RDR and the GTA games are awesome. LA Noire wasn't that good.

The Batman series is awesome but I wish that the other 2 characters (aside from Catwoman and Batman) like Nightwing and Robin were able to be used in single player and not just challenge missions. Would have added to the replay value.

I'll look int othe GOT games though. I also never played MP series.

I'm the opposite, love LA Noire, and absolutely HATE any GTA game, I think they're boring and it's been the same game with better graphics with updated city/story since GTA3...
But I like Red Dead Redemption.

hey I didn't like Asylum either but I can't pass up a "GOTY" candidate for $30!

At that price I would have bought it too even just to exchange it on kijiji Smile

I loved the Max Payne series, hopefully this is just as good. The action in the first one for the PS2 was awesome.

I got bored playing Morrowind, but maybe that's because it was on PC and my system was close to the minimum requirement...

Tried Oblivion but didn't really like the world, and once again open space got me bored.

Might try Skyrim though, from the reviews it seems like the story is very good and that's one of the most important thing that keeps me going in RPGs

I'm the opposite - love the open world. Have barely touched the main quest in Skyrim.

These games are definitely frustrating when your system isn't up to the challenge, though, so I can see how that would drive you away.

I like Skyrim, but it's so easy to get wiped out. Those giants send you flying....

I like Batman Arkham city too. It need severe HP to make it more.

I just built an i7 Crossfired 6870 to run the two above....

Just bought:

Of course I've finished the 2 games on ps2 a long time ago but it's just too good remastered in HD. These 2 are among the few games that I can think of that brings out emotion.

I think that was a response to the criticism of Oblivion that there was no way to escape from your level - every enemy was 'levelled' according to the PC level, so no matter where you went you always faced enemies that were more or less appropriate to your power level and therefore no area was any more dangerous than any other. This compromised the open world feeling somewhat, because no matter where you ventured, you'd never run into a 'hard' enemy. It was also easy to exploit, because there were a lot of ways to make your character very powerful without actually increasing their level (for instance, setting skills that you never use as 'primary' so that you could increase the skills you do use without increasing your character level.)

Skyrim levels enemies for the most part, too, but there are still some places where you'll run into enemies that are 'out of your league.' I actually like this because it adds an element of suspense and danger to the world - you actually have to worry about straying too far from the beaten path because there's a chance you'll encounter something that's too difficult for you to kill. I like the giants in particular because they generally won't attack unless you engage them (i.e. by getting too close) but you can still sneak around them or even beat them with a low level character if you plan things right. I think it makes for a better 'role playing' experience because there are some situations where you're probably better off avoiding a fight altogether, but if you prefer to fight it's still possible to win.
