Bryan Murray Vs Dany Heatley: Who Blinks First?

Murray says it's a given that Heatley will not be wearing the alternate captain's "A" any longer. That would indicate he was a team leader, which he isn't, Murray said.

"I would not want to answer that question for the captain, but to me, (leaders) are the people who wear the A," Murray said. "I would suggest that Cory (Clouston, the Senators' head coach) and Dany would mutually agree that this hasn't been the case so far."

Melnyk had some candid comments when asked what he'd say to Dany when he sees him for the first time since this all came out.

Melnyk replied that he really didn't know what he'd say other than "What were you thinking? Where were you getting your advice from?".

Should be interesting times in Ottawa for Dany boy.

Melnyk is such a neat guy. Sometimes he should say what he says, but he's really interesting and I'm really glad he's our owner.

is there any team in the league that does not have the players names on the back of the jerseys? maybe thats what this team needs-a reminder you are playing for the Senators, not yourself.

Not in our league, but the Red Sox don't have the names I don't think. It's all about the jersey.

so I guess that makes him just a hole eh? looks like he will be our hole though, 11 days to training camp. Can't wait to the start of rookie camp this weekend, more time for Karlsson to shine.

Yeah, I'm really getting excited. All this Heatley Dung appears to be headed for a stalemate, so soon we can start watching the young guys compete - then pre-season. Yes!

The way Murray talked about Z.Smith and Karlsson yesterday makes me wonder if they've got spots to lose here.

hmm very interesting considering how many one way contracts we have, guys like Winchester, Bass, and Donovan (if he is signed still), which I just checked cap geek and he still is for this year, makes me wonder if any moves would have to be done to accomodate Zack Attack making it, on D, well things are the same, Karlsson makes it, so who's spot does he take? Lee's, Picard's, or Campoli's?

I'm guessing Picard is the likely choice.

I don't know how willing BM is to trade Dono after last off-season when Dono came to BM and asked him if he could stay at a discount. I don't know the reasons behind it, but I think BM is a fairly sentimental guy.

Also, Bass isn't on a 1-way.

I know it's kinda (really) mean, but I'm looking forward to some injuries (Kelly, Donovan...) to see the kids play.

ah my bad on Bass, he can go to the minors if he doesn't impress then. ugh, decisions decisions when it comes to the others, Dono does everything that is expected of him and is a great guy to have around the young kids, so expect Murray keeps him in the fold as well.
