Bryan Murray Vs Dany Heatley: Who Blinks First?

bottom line, Heatley may have cost us the season.  BM was well aware our offense was not up to par and I believe he planned on addressing that through free agency.  Now, we're still in limbo, stuck with a guy that may or may not show up for training camp.  I just hope BM doesn't give in...stay strong...yes, this year is a write off but hey, on a bright note, our prospects are finally gonna get some real minutes.  Time to see what they're made of.

Not even kidding around here, Taylor Hall is a serious possibility here in Ottawa. I would say a top 3 pick is possible and a top 5 pick is likely. Atlanta is a year old and a little better, Tampa added Hedman and Ohlund, and with TOcket there for a full camp and season they will push for a playoff spot. Florida is still solid from the goal crease out to the blueline.

Seriously, who is Ottawa better then in the East... NYI... then I struggle, and we got beat by them 3 times last year. Ottawa is in deep this upcoming season.

Unfortunately, I don't think he is.

The goaltending is too good, Clouston's a good coach and I think this team is going to be in better shape this year.

I see us finishing 10/11th in the conference right now, which for me is much worse than finishing 15th. I'll take an awful team over a mediocre team any day. Mediocrity is self-perpetuating.

Man, though, would Hall/Kabanov/Fowler ever look good in an Ottawa uniform.

In the East, honestly, who is Ottawa better then right now? NYI I would think, but who knows what happens there with a young core. Florida... probably not, their defense is much better then Ottawa's and their goaltending is about the same. Toronto? Maybe... but Burke is turning them into one mean, agresive team that is not good for an small Ottawa team.

I dont see The Sens finishing any higher then 12th in the conferane.

Without a free agent forward pickup, this team is not a playoff team. Something has to give soon.

Sens are no where near a playoff team. Seriously, just get the picks/prospects, so on from who ever. LA will have a top 5 pick again this year as well if I was a betting man.

not many options out there to make us competitive, better off to keep the money and let the young kids play, might be some rough games, but they should be entertaining as well.

The deal to send Dany Heatley to Edmonton is dead.
Unless the Edmonton Oilers are willing to increase what they're going to pay for the disgruntled Senators winger, Heatley won't be going to the Oilers anytime soon.
"It's different now," said Murray. "I don't know whether we will continue or not. During the day, I will talk to Steve Tambellini again. Very definitely it's not the same deal it was yesterday."
Heatley refused to approve a deal at midnight that would have sent him to the Oilers in exchange for Dustin Penner, Andrew Cogliano and Ladislav Smid.
Murray said he had been given permission by Heatley's camp to speak to Edmonton on the weekend.

Centre Jason Spezza spoke for the first time publicly and stated he just wants Heatley to make a decision.

"If he doesn't want to be here, it's important for him to move on
and for the organization to be able to make a trade," said Spezza.

Guys, I think you are underestimating our blueline. They will be leaps and bounds better than last year. Our goaltending may be as solid as it has ever been or better. Our forwards are....We are so screwed up front.
