Is this from Sens chirp or tsn.ca? I read this exact thing basically on tsn earlier today in either Mckenzie's or Dreger's blog (I can't remember which). Particularly the part about Edmonton taking back salary in the form of Smith.

I wouldn't touch Kovalev with a 10 foot pole. He tends to run too hot and cold. Tanguay has never looked like the same player since Peter Forsberg left Colorado. Then again who does.

You know what's funny...what does this say about Heatley when a team like L.A. will take a shot at a guy like Kovalev and his issues rather than take a younger, some would say better hockey player.

you know things might go "other ways"
earlier on L.A. was a suitor for heatley but moved out of that category but now with them having no luck picking up a star player(well I think they’ll get Kovalev, but he’s far from a star) I think they could be back in. frolov and a mix of prospects and a 1st pick might cut the butter now. And you know the funny deal I think they are actually interested in Jason Smith so it wouldn’t even be taking on salary for them. I hope this becomes an option.

I suggest he play for team Germany... er ist ein Scheiße-Kopf!

You'd be lucky to get more than Frolov for Heatley right now. Besides who knows if LA is even on his "list". We know SJ and NYR were two of the teams.

i think california as a whole is on his list.

and you know like it's been said it's gonna get ugly. they either pay for the star he is or the cyclop stays in ottawa.

He starts being fined 30K per day at the start of Training Camp if he refuses to report.

You can also fine a player for showing up to camp overweight. I wonder if FAT HEAD counts.

This is going to be one mess of a season.

If the Sens are no where near a playoff spot come the end of Dec, you can bet A train and other will be dealt for prospects and picks.

It will be entertaining and amusing to Leafs and Habs, watching us suck.

whao man, calm down lets not go down the "blow the team up and trade everyone for prospect and picks" road. I think Heatley thinks that now that the 4 million is out of the way that the offers will be pouring in, not gonna happen. Unless a GM is so deprate for a star player nobody in their right minds is going to go near Dany after his amazing display of chracter and loyalty yesterday. When it comes down to the wire it'll either be LA or the Oilers with the offer on the table and Heatley is prob way to scared to come back to Ottawa so he'll take the next trade.

Ottawa is probably the worst team in the division now, The Leafs are close, but Ottawa has done absolutly nothing to this point (not Murray's fault) and there are serious issue's.

This team could very well lose 40, 2-1 games this year. There is absolutly no offense in Ottawa.

This team is basically blown up as is... if Heatley ends up going for just picks and/or prospects, then The Sens are in rebuild mode, they might be there already. The only place there isnt a question mark is in goal, everything else is up in the air.

This is when you really need Spezza to put up another 30+, Aflie another 30+, Fisher 25+, Foligno 20+, and hopefully our defence can add some goals (Campoli, Kuba, Lee, Picard, Karlsson?).

I don't think we expect Kelly to put up too many goals, nor Neil.

I was afraid it would come to that, we got good goaltending at least and will have great D by the year 2012 when all our prospects are ready.

I don't agree with this. Leclaire is an upgrade in nets, a full year of Clouston, removing a lazy star, all should be good things. Plus if the deal does go through I think the club will be better balanced... I am not convinced this club needs to go for a total rebuild. There are really good peices here.

N4L you are a glass half full dude...
