Or had 1 good year, period, lol. Plus pitching in domes is tough enough let alone for a guy who has 1 pitch that happens to be a knuckle ball. It needs the elements to move around and jump around the strike zone but hey, far be it from anyone with 1/2 a brain that saw this coming to rip on it.

I still don't get why these guys were touted as world series favs last season....they got loser players from a loser team. Dickey was a HUUUUGE risk.

They need to redo everything again cuz they screwed the pooch on the rebuild once again. Bautista is no good, trade him while he has value. Same with Dickey. J.P. Arencibia was a colossal failure where he was supposed to be the future in a position the jays haven't been able to solidify in over a decade. It's time to just trade out the older guys, anthopolous was all smoke and mirrors unfortunately. And Drabek hasn't panned out. Jays love the DL.

Jays always lose the series in tampa. I think they'll have a better season just be default for not having josh johnson in the rotation (what a sack of crap). But they won't get a sniff of post season play I"m afraid.

Bring back the expos...and then the lynx

If the Expos and Lynx came back I would be way more into baseball. Fact is 94 killed it for me for the most part even if I kept playing until 99.

Another Toronto sports franchise with horrible management.

Why do you say that? AA worked pretty hard to accumulate a stocked cupboard of talent, then he did what Ottawa did and traded some of those prospects to acquire major league ready talent.

The trade that brought in Reyes and Buehrle was a trade you do every day of the year. Reyes is a beautiful baseball player who just recently ran into some injury issues, but I think will be fine. He's the kind of cornerstone you build around and AA basically stole him. Buehrle is a seasoned vet that brings it every year and eats up innings. He was a good addition as well. No one knew Josh Johnson was gonna crash and burn - and despite what people want to say, very few say Dickey coming in and blowing as well.

AA also stole Steve Delabar from the Mariners for Eric Thames. Delabar is a fantastic holder.

Marcum for Lawrie is also an amazing trade in retrospect - no matter if Marcum had continued success or not.

He's built the team right IMO, he needs immediate help in the starting rotation after what appears to be a dead deal with Dickey coming in, but aside from that, he's built a lineup where Reyes leads off, Cabrera, Bautista, Encarnacion, Lind, Lawrie and Rasmus follow. With ANY kind of starting pitching, that lineup should be in contention for a wild card.

You make some good points, but the results haven't been there.

The results won't be there until AA magically finds an ace pitcher, which is near impossible unless you're lucky enough to get one via trade or develop one internally which takes years and years most of the time.

There's a kid in the minors, Arron Sanchez - who looks fantastic. I think he might - repeat might - be a starting pitcher sooner rather than later. He's got a 98MPH fastball and a devastating curve that can clock in at low 90s as well. I strongly think you'll see him in Toronto in the next 2 or 3 months.

There's also a little dude, Marcus Stroman - that's got a crazy live arm. He almost got the nod to join the Jays for opening day, but got molested in his final outing and was sent to AAA Buffalo for more work.

Those are lights at the end of the tunnel. Along with Hutchinson - who's an incredible story and Dustin Mcgowan who's worked his arse off to be a starter in Toronto.

I think Hutchinson goes tonight for the Jays. So it'll be neat to see if his movement on the fastball is as live as it was in spring training.

Man i've been hearing about this 'light at the end of the tunnel' garbage for so long. J.p. Arencibia was the light at the end of the tunnel. Drabek.

I dare say, I think mark buehrle is the only legitimate threat the jays have in the rotation. He's more ace than dickey. Morrow has fallen off fast. Ricky Romero got ruined too.

AA was on a decent path but he's also made some weird trades. What the hell is so good about Anthony gose? It's just like toronto to hype up every prospect coming the jays way, that's why I don't hold much expectation for these prospects u speak of. nothing has indicated they will pan out. Not Brett Lawrie, not Arencibia, not morrow, not gose, not anybody

That's why you keep drafting, keep developing and keep hoping.

The only thing Morrow has against him is injury troubles. If he can keep away from that, he'd be elite. He'd be the ace - easily.

Surely you see what Lawrie brings.

Gose has the speed and glove to be an everyday player, but much more was expected from him in the offense category. Not sure he'll make it based on that, but there's time to develop still.

I think we can all agree that Dickey is not the Jays' ace. Jays don't have an ace at all. The gamble with Dickey is not looking very good right now... it's early days in the season... surely they can't be as bad as last season... can they?

Sigh...

It also might be difficult to get free agent pitchers to sign here because of the division we play in. Boston and NY are always good and they literally have money to burn. TB is amazing, Baltimore is up and coming. It's a nightmare division.
