Oh, that's not as bad. I read 8 and they were offering 5.3

Another relief pitcher with closing experience. He lost closer job in Texas to Feliz.
AA has acquired the following 3 relief pitchers who all make about $3mil and have closing experience Rauch, Franciso, Dotel. AA also signed Villeneuva. I think all are on one year deals.
I'm guessing that he may be looking to move Frasor before training camp.

I like the way the team is shaping up, but I still feel like there's a serious lack of power and another bat would be nice.

I think DH is okay with Lind and EE. EEhit 21 homers in just over half a year. Lind has hit well(in 2009).
I'm more worry about defense. I don't know about davis and Rivera but I've heard they are less than averag eto average defenders, Snider is average. Bautista is average at short. Lind will be below average at 1st and JP Arencibe did not make it to big league based on D.

Bautista is averge at short? You mean Escobar? He's damn solid at short IMO, but it's Bautista that's sick defensively.

He's very methodical in fixing holes in the lineup, I'll give him that. People were worried about the bullpen, but he's done a nice job in adding some talent.
I liked the idea of Napoli though, I'm a little disappointed.

Thanks, fixed the post for SS. I did not mean Escobar was average at SS. He's very good.
Bautista has a great bat but sick defensively? He had a rocket for an arm from RF which will be an asset at third but I think his coverage is average at both RF and 3rd.
I would like to see them get a third baseman so Bautista can play RF(where he wants to play). Likely Hill or Lawrie in 2012.

I think this is an awful trade. I liked the Napoli trade as well, guy has good power with a fairly decent contract.
I've been reading some less than favourable things about Fransisco, some say he's been on the decline the last 2 years - aside from Feliz stealing his job.
AA loses this one, big time.

The good news for us is that AA hasn't lost a trade yet IMO. If he thought we needed some serious competition for late inning relief, then I'd believe him - even if it's at the expense of Napoli - who wants over 6 million BTW. Still disappointed though...I liked having some power in there with Napoli. Is Vlad coming maybe?
