Jays lock up Ricky Romero for 5 years, 30.1 million with a club option for a 6th. Excellent news, this kid is amazing. He's gonna be one of the best in the AL in the next 3 years.

Well, it depends on what you consider one of the best...Top 10? Top 20?

I think he'll consistently put himself in the top 10 in the AL in 3ish years. He's got the stuff, he's got the attitude, his mechanics are great.
Also, Shawn Marcum last night had devastating stuff. Another no-hitter into the 7th inning for the Jays this year - Marcum lost the no-hitter in the 7th, but then retired the final 9 hitters for a 1 hit, CG victory.
Amazing stuff. People should be watching the Jays to get a sneak peak at how good they'll be.

Already there my friend. They're looking amazing right now. However, I'm still a little peeved at AA for trading Brett Wallace for a relative unknown. Also sucks about Marcum losing the no-hit bid, this has happened like 3-4 times this season with the jays

As for Romero, I'm not sure if he can be Top 10, as there is a lot of pitching talent in the AL (Lee, Sabathia, Beckett, Lester, Buchholz, Price, Hernandez, Verlander, Weaver, Greinke, etc.), but the potential is certainly there.
The Jays look to have a bright future, but so do the other 3 teams ahead of them in the East. It's gonna be a while before they can really compete in that division, and even then it will be tough because the Red Sox and Yankees rarely fall down to mediocrity.

Rotation could potentially be Marcum, Romero, Morrow, Cecil and Drabek next season. That's one good looking rotation.
What they need to solidify is their inconsistent batting lineup. Ir eally hope Bautista and Wells can duplicate, but Lind and Hill need to get back to their previous season form. Escobar is a pleasant surprise

They've got Arencibia looking at a roster spot next year and hopefully Snider can develop into a solid lead off hitter, although Escobar seems to have all the makings of a player who fits that mold.
As for the rotation, I think within the next year or two, Morrow will be the ace of the staff. He has some sick sick stuff and is a power throwing pitcher who throws tons of strikes. Marcum and Romero could round out a legit top 3. Drabek is probably still at least a year away. He'll most likely start in AAA next year and work his way up to spot starts.
The Jays really need to look at their relief pitching though. And they need to establish a better closer than Gregg. That will be their downfall next year if it doesn't get addressed.
