My god Lapierre is a piece of dung!!

Did I mention I really can't stand him?

Oh you are not alone my friend. He makes my skin crawl...
Maxime... That's a girls name dude!! LOL

but seriously, I never could stand him, and he thinks much to highly of himself. But I'm sure his mom thinks he's cool!

I used to call him "Maxine" Wink

Did Kelly forget how to take a draw? He's been horrible last few games. 1 for 6 tonight.

Eh. I'm lukewarm about this win.

The Habs will still make the playoffs, and we're worsening our draft position. It is nice to beat the Habs, though.

Mister Auld made a VERY good case for himself.

I don't see him on the team next year. They're not getting rid of Leclaire and I doubt they put Elliott back in the minors. He'd probably ask for a trade.

So Auld gets moved, but it's frustrating because I doubt GMs see him as the calibre of goalie he's been for us. Even then, it would be a tough sell to get anything of value because any sensible GM will ask why they gave up an asset like Vermette for Leclaire. Something would have to be amiss, surely. :KJK:

Habs will be tired and more than a little sore tomorrow. Price will be in goal with all the weight of the centenary on his shoulders. We may yet see him crying.

If they lose to the Rangers tomorrow and Florida beats the Flyers, then the Habs are only 1 point up facing Boston, while Florida goes against Atlanta. This could be very, very interesting.

They could be facing the Penguins on Saturday in a real must-win game.

One could say each of the remaining games for Le Canadien...Rangers, Boston, Pittsburgh...are 'must win'...n'est-ce pas?

And without their two most important defense and power play men.

It does not look good for La Gang A Gainey.

Ahhhhh!

I dont think a GM looking for a backup with 1 year left would really question it.

Yeah, but Auld's played better than a back-up. That's the frustrating part. I'll be surprised if he returns a 3rd rounder, but I think he's worth so much more to a team (even our team) than that.

Good points Dave. The MTL PP looked awful tonight. They are definitely missing those 2 guys. It will be interesting to see if they can step up their game against the Rangers tomorrow night. With Buffalo losing tonight, it would pretty much take MTL to lose the remaining 3 games to be out of the playoffs. I just don't see it though.

Good problem to have.

Yeah.

Then again, I thought prior to 2007-2008 that the Gerber/Emery/Elliott competition was a good problem to have. Facepalm

Diddle tank nation tonight, that was a lot of fun to see. Smile

There are times when you see a line out there and you think: hmmm, that could work, I wonder...

And then they strike for two quick goals, one with a great play from Winchester and a great pass from Fisher (and great battle from Heatley), then one where Winchester destroyed that nerd Janic (sp - don't care) and set up the 2 on 1.

Wouldn't it be nice to have the luxury of moving Shannon to line 2b with that sick line from Bingo (I believe it's Zubov and Z.Smith, but we can substitute Kelly in there for Smith).

Auld is a really good tender, weird issue to have. Elliott doesn't need more time in the AHL, so he'll have to go. What a pick-up that'll be for Colorado or whoever gets him. Damn...and I bought that black Sens shirt with his name on it. Crying

Auld is so much better than I imagine his value is. Based on his play, he merits a 2nd round pick, at least. He's cheap, young and a no-nonsense guy in the locker-room. Perfect back-up who has given us starter-calibre hockey.

But I'll be surprised if he returns a 4th. It's a shame. I can't imagine Colorado would do Auld + our pick for their pick. Wink
