I want another Martin Havlat (Not made of glass). When is that next guy coming for the Sens?

That would be MSP Sad

Richard Panick is near our 2nd round pick, if we could move up and grab him, he appears to be in the Havlat mold.

Or...Andre Petersson is Martin Havlat for sure. Unfortunately, right down to his lack of defensive skills, but apparently they're working with him to correct that.

Peter Regin is close as well, but he's missing the explosive speed Havlat had - and potentially the scoring ability at the NHL level.

Don't forget Havlat was killing penalties in Ottawa before he left. You don't remember him as a Short handed threat?

Not really, but a lot of that is because my memory of specific situations isn't that great. I can't imagine him being a good penalty killer, but he certainly had the speed.

Nice! You must have been pleased when we drafted him.

I was surprised he went so late. I always felt he had the tools to be a dominant power forward, with huge upside.

I hated him though, because he played for Sudbury...

I wasn't living in the Sault back then, so I sorry, but I don't know that name.

Foligno struggled under both Paddock and Hartsburgh but since Clouston has come in he's been absolutely on fire. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe 10 or more of his 16 goals have come since Clouston came on board. Foligno has solidified a top six forward position for at least this season as well. That line of Foligno, Fisher and Shannon is not only a lightening quick offensive threat but they also act like a wrecking crew out there (excluding little Shannon of course). They have the skill and offense of a second line but the grinding, hard hitting, forechecking style of a checking third line. Clouston has shown a lot of confidence in Foligno and his efforts have been rewarded with some prime Power play minutes which he's taken full advantage of.

Does that make him a 30-goal threat? :D

Seriously, I'd echo several of the above - it's nice to have some scoring from "anyone other than the Big 3"

I should think so under clouston for 23 24 games he has 10 i think
he definately has the portential to hit 30 if not 25 is not out of the
realm of possibility

I said last year Foligno would hit 20 this year. Now, he might not quite get there, but under Clouston all year, he would be near 25.

Secondary scoring isnt a huge isse right now, niehter is grit, or top line tallent. Goaltending is sorted out, all we need is that number 1 D man. Smith is gone next year, one way or another, I would guess Auld is as well, same with Schubert and IMO Comrie will be as well.

If they can add J Bo without getting rid of either Heatley or Spezza, Sens might very well be the best team in the East, and by a large margin.

Again, there isnt a market for him it seems, he is basically worthless in a trade whether people want to believe it or not. The best option right now, IF they can sign J Bo is to keep both those guys.

The goaltending is in good shape, A Train and Phillips are back into their slots as the 3, 4 guys, and have the opportunity to succeed again. Kuba needs his partner though, because Lee isnt going to cut it.

I think you gotta cut ties with SMith and make sure Lee stays down in Bingo. If Karlsson does come over then Picard might have to be dealt as well.

The D next year should/hopefully look like this

J Bo/Kuba
Phillips/A train
Campolli/Karlsson
Bell

That would be ideal.

Up front

Alfi/Spezza/Heatley
Shannon/Fisher/Foligno
Kelly/Regin/Neil
Ruutu/Winchester/Donovan or Bass

Obviously a Leclaire/Elliott Combo.
