I missed it.
I turn away for 2 minutes, and I miss Heatley's one bodycheck of the year.

Crap.
But on a brighter note, they took one of the best teams in the league right to the edge. Maybe there is hope for next year.

what a lost cause...

I am however convinced that Boston will not be going to the promised land, not if tonight's play against not only a basement dweller but a team that was in action last night is any indication.

Heatley should stay with Fisher because he plays totally different and a lot better when put in that situation. I also liked Foligno up with Spezza and Alfie. If only we still had somebody that could play with Comrie because Kelly bobbles the puck every time Comrie tries to make a play.

Now do people see how important Kuba is to this team? I think they are really missing him. He would have made a huge impact in a game like this.

I really liked how the team never gave up and they made the Bruins at least earn the win. I'm not sure how Chara got away with bulling Alfie into Thomas though. That should have been a penalty.

Good game from the top line, at least.

And Cronie: yes. :D

Although I wanted the Leafs to beat the Lightning in over-time.

I thought so Asq2... LOL

I wonder how different, if at all, the outcome could have been had Kuba suited up?

I would argue for TB over Leafs in OT - Ottawa needs to fall behind the Lightning, they are already behind (sort of) the Leafs. TB over Leafs in reg. time is better than Leafs winning given Ottawa losing, since Ottawa doesn't gain ground, but TB does.

So say the Tank Nation statistics. (I can post an update to the stats table this weekend, if anybody is interested...)

My other interest is seeing the Leafs get as poor a pick as possible. :$$:

I agree - but if they don't get points, then Ottawa runs the risk of passing them. And in my mind, it's far more important for Ottawa to get a better pick than for Toronto to move later. Let TB stay between Ottawa and Toronto; just make sure TB ends up ahead of Ottawa (and both behind Toronto, of course).

Son of a ****. Well, we gave them a scare and we got a great showing from the top line.

And Shannon - actually - no one really played badly, but good lord do I ever miss Kuba and Smith. Lee is learning though.

Why won't they shoot LOL? Urggg.

Still....definitely not complaining. Auld possibly should have had one of those...but life goes on.

One PP QB away from competing again. Unless Campoli and Kuba can do it. Good for Schubert (and I apologize for giving everyone a hard time, but Schubert ****ed up the positioning on that play in our end and was kind of lucky to get the puck and get it out).

They lost it a hearbeat into overtime.

Apparently the crowd boo'd them off the ice. Man it must be fun to play in Montreal Ahhhhh!

Shoulda read the last post in the thread before responding to the second last Razz

Still, how great would it be if the Habs miss the playoffs? The Sens might be done, but im still very interested in how this season ends.

Go Oilers!

A game like this one shows where the Senators are in comparison to the top teams.

The Bruins did all the damage in the first period, and then, as Mike Eastwood said, "put it on cruise control".

In all fairness, Ottawa did some good things, and playing without Kuba and Smith didn't help. Schubert is not an NHL defenseman, and it is beginning to look like neither is Brian Lee. The Sens need more depth back there.

Auld showed why the Bruins didn't keep him.

Playing Chris Neil instead Shean Donovan may be entertaining for fight fans, but Neil is not making a good case for a $2MM contract. In fact the Sens didn't really miss him when he was out. I know he is a sentimental favourite--and I have always admired his competitive spirit--but one has to wonder if it may be time for Mr Neil to move on and pass the torch. Or maybe do more Turpin Pontiac GMC radio spots.
