Shoulda read the last post in the thread before responding to the second last Razz

Still, how great would it be if the Habs miss the playoffs? The Sens might be done, but im still very interested in how this season ends.

Go Oilers!

And Shannon - actually - no one really played badly, but good lord do I ever miss Kuba and Smith. Lee is learning though.

Why won't they shoot LOL? Urggg.

Still....definitely not complaining. Auld possibly should have had one of those...but life goes on.

One PP QB away from competing again. Unless Campoli and Kuba can do it. Good for Schubert (and I apologize for giving everyone a hard time, but Schubert ****ed up the positioning on that play in our end and was kind of lucky to get the puck and get it out).

A game like this one shows where the Senators are in comparison to the top teams.

The Bruins did all the damage in the first period, and then, as Mike Eastwood said, "put it on cruise control".

In all fairness, Ottawa did some good things, and playing without Kuba and Smith didn't help. Schubert is not an NHL defenseman, and it is beginning to look like neither is Brian Lee. The Sens need more depth back there.

Auld showed why the Bruins didn't keep him.

Playing Chris Neil instead Shean Donovan may be entertaining for fight fans, but Neil is not making a good case for a $2MM contract. In fact the Sens didn't really miss him when he was out. I know he is a sentimental favourite--and I have always admired his competitive spirit--but one has to wonder if it may be time for Mr Neil to move on and pass the torch. Or maybe do more Turpin Pontiac GMC radio spots.

Just caught the highlights... wow... Auld got beat high glove side all game long. Need to work on that.

yeah, Auld can be great at times, but one thing is for sure, EVERYONE saw his weakspot last night...

As for Neil, I tend to see where you are coming from DTR, and unless Neil takes a hometown discount, perhaps the sun has set on his tenure with the Sens.

One thing for sure, I will always admire and respect the courtesy he showed Lucic last night, because for all intensive purposes, once Lucic was fighting 'blind', Neil could have easily put him down for a nap. Great showing of ethics and class Neil. Bravo!

at the point of his career, his time to work on it might be passing, if Auld isn't going to cut it, we could always do the Leclaire/Elliott tandem next year. as for the game last night, am glad about the way we lost, they could have given up as soon as it was 4-1, but I didn't see any quit in that team until Kessel put in the empty netter.

agreed SF. Poor Campoli. I'm sure he got razzed a bit in the dressing room afterwards.

we will count that one as a lesson learned lol, he is only 24, mistakes happen and usually lead that player to becoming even better.

For getting burned to a crisp by Kessler? Smoked his Donkey. A clear case of who wanted it more.

Chris Neil is indeed a very classy guy...and he does, as he has said, "Bleed Sens colours". But IMHO the tilt between him and Lucic put a harsh spotlight on the reality of where Chris Neil is in the current NHL.

Milan Lucic is 20 years old, makes $575K a year, 6'4" 220 lbs, and is on pace for 15-26-42 with a plus 14. He is talked about as 'another Cam Neely' (for what that's worth).

Chris Neil is 29 years old, makes $1.2MM (and wants $2MM), 6'1' 209, on pace for 3-5-8 with a minus -18. Great team player whose best of his six seasons saw him pot 16 goals (he has scored more than ten only twice).

Milan Lucic is an example of the New Kids On The Block who are becoming--and may become--the core of the NHL. The NKOTBs are bigger, stronger, faster, just as tough, more skilled, more productive and less expensive.

Ottawa needs NKOTBs.

good point DTR, and I think judging by Murray's current draft record, that's exactly the direction he seems to be taking.

Agreed, so Murray needs to be drafting more of these types, perfect example is Kyle Beach, he was another one that is going to be like Lucic or already is, they are the closest players to the "total package" if you will. score, hit, fight, will do it all for the sake of the team. Bitz is another example of that type of player...there was one play where he was cutting to the net and the defenseman was just not going to move him easily, he was that determined.

Is this kid related to ex-Hawk/Sen/Devil/Blue/Flame Mike Peluso?

Evander Kane's going to be a physical guy as well.

it's funny how you mention Kane and well, he has been bashed on this board, and I will admit, myself included have said I would rather if Bryan Murray drafts someone else, would be egg on my face if Murray does pick him, and he turns out to dominate, and if that happens, I will gladly admit to my wrong assumption of Kane.
