What I mean is he's adjusted his game to be a very effective 4th liner since that is the role they've placed him in. Rather than struggle and try to keep his game the same he's adjusted quite nicely as a grinder in his current role. I too agree that him and Regin could be an effective PK tandem. It can't be worse than what we've been doing and getting Ruutu out of that role could help.

So whose brilliant move was it to have Winchester play on the top line in pre-season and to start the season?

My guess would be it was Brian Murray's influence because he's the one who signed him to a one-way deal and wanted him to be a sure bet top line scorer right out of the gate.

All everyone sees is the other antics of Ruutu, the supposed diving and such, but Ruutu is definitely not Derek Roy. He draws penalties, has done some stupid stuff this season, but lately, that hasn't been an issue. any word on Neil's return?

Neil will return and Kuba still missing. Neil to replace Donovan.

With Kuba out, I really start to notice what he brings to the table. Perhaps it was that he was playing a lot better recently as well, but he's been excellent.

What is with Donovan getting the short end of the stick most times? It's an unfortunate situation when Donovan gets scratched and we're forced to play Schubert and Lee due to our current injury situation. We hung in there on home ice losing because of an unfortunate High sticking last time out. This time no Vermette, No Smith, No Kuba, No Picard and insert Schubert and Lee on Defense then factor in that it's a road game against an angry Bruins team that just lost two in a row and have been playing poorly over the last ten games and this is my reaction. Scared

Here's hoping:

Heatley and Spezza put in a consistent effort tonight.

Regin and Shannon continue to play well.

Alfredsson at least maintains his pace to become a PPG for his career.

If Elliott is starting, he plays well.

Lee looks good.

The Sens still lose (we need this).

So does Spezza with his head down cutting across on Chara, lol.

LMAO!! I totally opened the door for that one.

Nice Neely.

EDIT: If Spezza had his head down and Chara goes for it, he could possibly kill him! But in all seriousness, I don't think you of all people want Spezza on the IR for a LONG time... it renders him next to impossible to move...

Well, Lee didnt look good last night in all honesty, BUT to his credit he seems to be playing a little pissed off, more physical, which I really liked. I hope someone slaps his mother before every game to play with that kind of edge.

I didn't see the game last night, so I can't comment on it. But, I know that Lee got pretty involved physically during his Bingo stint.

HAHA! I just got this hilarious visual of Lee seeing his mom slapped and just gritting his teeth like Forigno in the Incredible hulk! LOL

Hmm...Hemmer wants some Duff-Underwood action. Is that called "getting pucks deep?" or "burying the biscuit"?

And will the babes be in Boston tonight to root for their dudes?

He has to or his NHL career will be short lived. Def tried to assert himself last night and you will never hear me or anyone else knock that. Liked what I saw a little more, one thing at a time I guess, but he didnt play a very good game overall.
