Frankly, getting any of the top seven, ie JT, VH, Duchene, MSP, Kane, Schenn, and Cowen, would be great.

Schroeder, Kadri and Glennie are a tier below. Still a nice addition, but after what we've suffered through, I definitely don't want to see us turn it around now.

Islanders, Atlanta, Tampa Bay, Colorado/Ottawa. We should be good for one of those for sure. If you're really high on Kane (I just don't know yet), it sets us up as about a 75% + chance of getting one of those guys.

We'll end up with one of them. There's not long enough to go for us to completely Diddle ourselves (I hope).

But he'd be a great pick-up if you could get a second first.

As far as Kane goes, I'm not going to say I "want" the guy, but I don't understand how some people on this site are acting like taking Kane would be a travesty.

Great shot and finish, very good speed, good size, great physicality, good hands, decent play-making ability although certainly not on the level of a Schroeder or MSP.

That's something about Schroeder I've heard a couple of times as well. Meh...better to go with the people who know I guess, I liked him for a while though. Thought he might be Colin Wilson ish.

Kane's incredible, but he comes with less of a hype machine than the other guys, so a lot of hockey fans just don't know him, his character and his talent well enough (unless you're really into it).

I like the accounts I've read of his talent etc. though.

Just don't let us Diddle this one up...whatever happens.

If Getzlaf was taken 19th and Mike Richards 24th, may be we should try that kind of player with a 2nd 1st rounder.

Terrible night for Tank Nation.

Tampa lost, LA lost, Atlanta lost, Toronto lost (albeit in OT) and St. Louis is losing, although they're not much of a threat to undertake us.
