Unfortunately, the Leafs lost (for those not wanting to see them get a nice draft-pick).

Cole notches a hattrick in Edmonton's win over Washington.

Where's SF56 when you need him Wink

Another installment of the Crosby/Malkin vs. Semin/Ovechkin rivalry tonight.

Caps and Pens are two teams going in different directions, though.

Still, definitely an interesting match-up. First game since Semin called out Crosby, and more of the Ovechkin-Malkin feud.

Should be fun to watch the Ovechkin/Malkin battle...

Price is "doubtful" for the AllStar game:

Kovalev is battling the flu, and will probably miss tonight's game against Nashville. With any luck he's a popular fella in the dressing room and will spread it around some by Saturday night. I wanna hear Jarkko say "Boo-hoo".

I loved the Karlsson pick, but I had said to a friend of mine at the time, if Karlsson was off the board, I'd take either Tedenby or Markstrom.

It's not even as nice IMO as his goal against Slovakia in the WJHC, which is the frightening part.

Good news for those wanting a high-pick:
Atlanta defeats Toronto in OT.

Also, I was watching the Edmonton Colorado game and Cuthbert said something along the lines of "coming into tonight's game, the Oilers were in 10th place in the conference. A win tonight and they're 2 points out of 5th."

Crazy.

Wojtek Wolski for the Avs has been moved to centre with the Sakic and Stastny injuries and looks quite good in that position. I wish we had a second-line C to compare.

Finally, I thought Tyler Arnason (ugh) looked quite good tonight as well. Surprising.

I don't know if anyone watched the Flyers/Panthers game tonight (last night should I say), but that Panthers team looks scary... Id be shocked if they didnt make the playofs. I think this team plays the exact same style as CHicago in the East. Jbo and Ballard were controlling that hockey game.

Except without the Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews or Patrick Sharp, unfortunately.

Or fan-base.

No sense in creating a new thread for this, but apparently, the Chris Pronger trade-mill is in full swing. Three separate sources have claimed that the Anaheim Ducks might be listening to offers for Pronger -- although they aren't explicitly actively shopping him, they are fielding calls of interest.

I think you should create a thread. A generational defensemen being discussed in trades? could be alot to talk about. :D

Tavares with a hattrick in his second game for the Knights, giving him 5 goals and 6 points in 2 games.

I guess my concern with him is A) can he do things on his own, or is he just one of those guys who thrives around other good players? B) can he dominate a game, or just be like Heatley and put up a few points and otherwise be invisible, C) can he be as effective despite not being overly physical or overly fast or overly large, and D) can people spell his name right, unlike the "Stall" brothers, or are we going to have to suffer through a variety of "Taveres," "Taveras", "Tavaras" or "Tavres" as I've seen.

I doubt it'll be as annoying as the years of 'Speeza' we had to endure. I even remember some people pronouncing Steve Duchesne's name Doo-Chezzz-neeee

When you refer to "Speeza" are you talking about how that made it's way into NHL 2K7 i think it was... or maybe 2K6, I forget the year.

As for "Doo'chez-nee' I think its that renegade S in the middle that threw people off... I mispronounced it the first time I read his name.

At least with Tavares it'll only be a matter of spelling, and probably not pronunciation.
