I wouldn't be surprised to see him inked to an extension, something like 2-3 years, similar to Hartsburg's deal.

Chances are, even though Murray has stated he has a Top 6 F and a #1 D man in his sights in June/July, this team may not look much different for next season, with the possible exception of a few new younger faces.

That's a tough, tough question that will also require a ton of input from Clouston. Tough question though. How would you feel about that (if they looked similar?)

Honestly, seeing how they've been playing of late, assuming Neil is retained this off-season and Comrie re-signed, I might be a little steamed, but I'd give Murray, Clouston and the team the benefit of the doubt and see how they come out of the gate. If it's a dismal outing or on par with this season by late November, then more moves will be needed.

However, on the flip side, if Heater or Spezza are moved and Murray managed to not only sign Bow (dreaming) and move up in the draft and snag MSP or whatever his name is, then depending on who's retained this off-season and not, I'd be skeptical and slightly trepidatious (mainly because of the loss of our top guns) but with Bow on the blueline and some young hungry guys in Bingo looking for a shot, who knows, it could be a surprising, tough and competitive team...

Yeah, as much as I'd hate to lose Spezza, if you can add J-Bo and Duchene or MPS or whatever, you might be okay.

Tough summer for Murray - glad it's him and not me (that's a bold-faced lie BTW).

Really? then since you opened the door Heater, what would you do if you're Murray come June 30th?

LOL, might be ok? Buddy, if we have Leclaire healthy, J Bo as the stud, do you realize how easily it may be to just build from that alone. We might got 1 year without a number 1 center, and even then, having that tallent around you with Heatley as your winger could turn out someone we never expected to be the number 1 center.

If that is the case in Ottawa next year, we are laughing, especially with Karlsson and who ever we get with our top pick this year.

if we can get ourselves a big center that doesn't mind mixing it up to dig out pucks and such, we could have minimum impact indeed, but the challenge is to find ourselves such center. through the draft, meh, not really, we need wingers. (MPS is a winger he he)

Kyle Beech if you can get him, IMO. That is a guy just made to play for Brian Murray.

Can I get J-Bo? Is he thinking of signing here? Without that question answered, I don't know.

In an ideal world I could make J-Bo fit under the cap without killing myself and without trading one of my good players. But, that's probably way off, so I'd think about going after a guy with one year left on his contract who wouldn't be worth a 1st round pick or equivalent. I've wanted Schneider for a while - although I'm sure the Habs will re-sign him - he would be a target. So would Aucoin be good to have - but I wouldn't go past a 1 year deal.

Also...not 100% convinced that Comrie's the guy. I would try to get a 70 point player who's still on a cheap contact - although that's way easier said than done.

I see what you're saying. I like Comrie, but unless he's willing to take a paycut AND he continues to excel (you'd have to gamble and watch the next 17 games quite closely) then I might keep him.

I could handle that judging by the stats below

one season of 60 pts in 60 games, -4 with 222 PIM
another season of 61 pts in 65 games, + 27, and 196 PIM

Would Chicago trade him for Neil? I am dreaming I know. Almost PPG player that is tough as well, hard to come by.

I thought this guy was regarded as a cancer? He's been suspended twice, has an attitude problem etc. etc. etc.

Very Downie-esque. Am I thinking of the wrong guy?

It's tough, because I like Comrie a lot - and he has skills. When Muckler acquired him 2 years ago, that was the answer, at this point, with this team, I'm really not so sure.

Maybe though. Hopefully.

He is regarded as a nut job thats immature. Scouts say he will make a better pro than a junior player.

Uh...should we not run for the hills on that one? We just got rid of Emery.

As per the hockey's future website,

Beach is a big physical force on the ice. He has a nose for the net, is a force on the power play, and will not shy away from dropping the gloves. Beach is as close to a total package as the WHL has to offer. A bruising power forward, Beach is plagued by perceptions of attitude problems. But Beach is capable and he will be given every opportunity to develop as a professional.

I am okay with all that.

Yep, he definitely sounds like he has a future in the Bigs.
