Is Auld on his way out?

From what I hear, Murray's fielding ALOT of calls regarding Auld as a backup going into the post season. It's believed that IF Murray makes a move for a goalie, Auld may be dealt for some interesting pieces.

F-it. I love Auld, but if he can bring some 'interesting pieces', then do it before it's too late. I don't even think it's a question - do it!

Would be extremely interesting if one of those pieces was Leclaire.

You could speculate that the Jackets are looking for a package of Auld & Vermette for Leclaire and a spare part.

I know people are going to say we deserve more coming back, but the reailty is we won't get it.

What if then Ottawa moved Vermette for Leclaire and a pick, then was able to move Auld for a 2nd rounder, perhaps even a 1st?

That's fine to say but why do that deal then? For the sake of making a move and taking on an injury prone goalie making more than our current tandem combined? Makes no sense to me.

No deal. Leclaire isn't good enough.

I think Murray's taking a major run at Backstrom this summer.

If Murray got a 1st rounder for Auld, he should/would get the keys to the city.

If it's Auld and Vermette going to Columbus, it's Leclaire, Russell/1st coming back.

I'll give you the fact that he's injury prone, but his numbers don't lie... Leclaire is an elite goalie.

I'm not saying i'd want to do this trade.. Not at all- I'm just saying what's realistic... outside of your little fantasy world.

That's a bit of a reach. He's a very good goalie, but I, nor anyone who opines about hockey, would not put him on a list with the following names: Martin Brodeur, Roberto Luongo, Henrik Lundqvist, Evgeni Nabokov, Tim Thomas. Those guys are elite goaltenders.

For now, Leclaire is a Theodore, Ward, Fleury, Bryzgalov-type guy.

I'd have to agree, he's nowhere near elite.

quality backup. As backups go, Auld is phenomenal. Contending team means a 1st would be 25-30

Go Murray! A 1st for Auld is something I hadn't thought of, nor do I think is possible, but if he gets it, we're all gonna be very happy campers.
