details, or rather confirmation is sketchy, but Darren Dreger just said on TSN that Gerber has been placed on re-entry waivers. Apparently, he went on to say Carolina may have interest...

Stay tuned, will update with a link and/or confirmation ASAP!

UPDATE: TSN has updated their ice chips indicating Gerber is indeed on re-entry.

I hope he goes to a good situation for him. He was brutal but professional. Wish him nothing but the best.

He said it on Leafs Lunch. His logic, familiarity and Cam Ward struggling.

We all saw Rutherford with Murray and how stinky the 'Canes goaltending looked.

RobbyJ, Mitch O'Keefe is up from the ECHL in Bingo.

Huh. I think this means we have to send a player down to the minors ASAP, because we can only carry 23 guys on the roster, and Gerber makes 24...

Nobody panic if Bell / Lee / Shannon / Foligno is sent to the minors very soon. It will be a temporary move, and done simply to accommodate NHL rules about roster sizes...

But then again, maybe we don't have to make that decision until after the re-entry period has elapsed and the waters have cleared.

They're saying that Murray would not have done it unless he was sure.

Check this out:

In Barfallo, Ryan Miller is out with a high ankle sprain, Lalime has a horrible flu, and of their 2 AHL goalies, one is injured. They called up the only guy who is reasonably healthy for tonight in Enroth.

They don't even have two goalies to play tonight. I have a feeling Gerber's going to Barf Town personally.

Faceoff.com's scouting report on Enroth:

ASSETS: Is extremely quick and agile. Has outstanding reflexes and solid instincts for the goaltending position.
FLAWS: Doesn't have ideal size for the goaltending position, and needs more experience against better competition.
CAREER POTENTIAL: Solid NHL starting goaltender.

Wouldn't be surprised to see The Gerbinator on the bus to Buffalo.
