Considering he was a likely candidate to be moved at the deadline, I felt this deserved its own thread.

Lascerated his right calf in the game against Buffalo.

Definitely a bad break for Neil and for the Sens' re-building effort.

10 days is a lot of time to heal. Barring any set backs I don't think that its a set back for a trade or rebuild.

He should be alright, and still be dealt at the deadline. 3 weeks should be good enough.

I guess he really wanted to stay here, huh :study: If we fall completely out of the race and he doesn't heal quick enough, I'm going to be pissed.

The Sun article states:

The right winger lacerated his right calf when he hit Buffalo Sabres defenceman Teppo Numminen at the end of the second period.
Neil, the Senators' enforcer, will be out indefinitely.

That sounds like more than ten days. The trade deadline is just 24 calendar days away.

Seems his status has changed from earlier today.

Working link... one above seems to be non-functioning...

No call-ups as Donovan and Schubie will be used to "fill the gap".

Seems he's close to returning:

"It's unlikely the Senators will recall anyone from their farm team
in Binghamton to fill Neil's roster spot. Coach Cory Clouston said over
the weekend that winger Shean Donovan is close to returning from a knee
injury that has kept him out of the lineup for eight games."
We'll see...
