I don't know about anyone else, but I'm getting really sick of Chris Neil raising his arms, and looking for crowd approval after a fight. It's embarassing. I get it that he's worked up, but calm down man, it's just another fight. Adjust your pads, go to the box, settle yourself down, and prepare yourself for getting back on the ice. Quit being a goof.

He's just trying to get the boring Ottawa crowd into the game, I don't blame him...

Fixed.

Seriously, I hear what you're saying, but have you been to a Sens game lately? They're not easy to watch.

people really shouldn't bring crickets to SBP.

I have no problem with Neil's "act". It's hard enough to get into the games these days, that his "act" is one of the highlights.

Nah but it dosen't change even when we are good... Ottawa crowds are horrible at SBP... for some reason they come alive at Lansdowne though...

Isn't that par for the course during the regular season though? All the games I've been to at SBP have been like that. The only time there's a loud crowd is if the Leafs or Habs are in town and the noise is coming from their fans.

In the playoffs, it's a whole different place though.

Agreed. It's his job and he's been doing this his whole career.

I disagree.. It's only different come 2nd round or third round.. I went to the first round the year we went to the finals and I couldn't believe it, it was ridiculous... Game was tied 1-1 with 5 minutes left and people were still running for the exits to beat the traffic, I really could not understand it...

Its awesome in the playoffs. And I think the noise during the Montreal games comes mostly from the Montreal to Ottawa booze-bus Hab fans. Even Toronto games haven't been that loud lately. Not the Ottawa-based Hab fans who drive to the games.

But I do agree it was electric, when we were in the finals... But that's also when it's all the real fans who are there...

I imagine these things vary from year to year. I went to game 5 of the OTT-PIT series (round 1) in '07 -- the game we closed out the series -- and the crowd was electric. It featured all kinds of engagement from the fans, including repeated, roaring taunting of Fleury, Crosby, and Roberts.

There's no denying that the average crowd at a Sens game, however, is sitting politely with their legs crossed sipping on lattes, and saying little to nothing. It's a function of the city's culture, and specifically of Kanata's culture, more than anything else.
