That's a tough one! I'm going to have to think about it...I want a lot of those guys, but we don't have that much to give up...

I like the spelling of Getz's.

Anyways...2 reasons. First the way he played with Heatley at the World's makes me believe they would be a great 1A line to Alfie and Spezza 1B.

Who would i give up..that's easy.

Fisher (who would be the odd man out as Getz is a C), Mesz (who is a hold out anyway) and a minor league prospect.


Good luck getting them to trade Getz, but this offer would make Burke think. They get a power forward in Fisher (who I'm not sure will ever be the #2 everyone wants him to be) and a solid young d-man to replace the Neids and Pronger when they start to move on.

I would choose Luongo because I got a taste of what an elite goalie can do with Hasek (when he wasn't sitting out because of a sore crotch).

I would offer Spezza and Volckenkov and hope that Vancouver doesn't insist on a 1st rounder as well (which they would).

I've always been a fan of Ryan Getzlaf and the way he plays hockey. Seeing him play with Heater this past Worlds just made it that much more of a want.

I'd trade Fisher and Lee for Getzlaf

Wow clutch come on now, i thought you would elaborate alittle more than this! How does acquiring Lushlongo fit into the Senators current roster? Why do you want him? just because he's a superstar goalie..? has to be more to your decision than that i know your thinking style. lol

Good point. Well first of all he's going to fit into any Canadian pressure situation, he's only behind Brodeur in terms of top goalies currently in the NHL and he can win games even if the entire team craps the bed. I'm not sure what else to say really.

Now as to how it affects the Sens, losing Spezza and Vermette will devistate our forward ranks for sure. We'd have to go out and sign some top notch UFA Forwards in the off season to make up for the loss otherwise we're just Vancouver of the East. I think we'd survive if we picked up another quality Center.

I voted for Mats Sundin, because the only thing we need to give up for him is cap space. It would give us a 1-2 punch in the East that no one can match in Spezza/Heatley and Sundin/Alfredsson.

Very good point PFK, I was looking longterm, which is why I went with Luongo.

Yeah he was the exception to this, which is why i said if the person you choose is an FA (i.e. Mats Sundown) throw in what you would think you would have to trade to get him if he was still in a contract with Toronto.. so what do you think we would need to give?
