Can we just not play the Islanders again after this? I would rather just forfeit the next game, so that at least our players don't lose confidence.

This year's Islanders are last year's Caps for us.

What, that no one fears Spezza will do anything but turn you inside out and score? Yeah, the last time they let hits and dirty play determine the outcome of a game or series they still made you score more goals than the other guys.

It's pathetic. This team is so far from a contender it's staggering. Even a J-Bo trade helps, but depending on what we give up, I don't think it makes us a contender.

There needs to be a shake up to the core imo. These guys need to be afraid for their jobs (well at least with the Sens).

I am really starting to question if a D-man is our biggest need. It's painful to watch this team struggle to score goals like this.

The Islanders have thoroughly embarassed us this season.

I doubt people got all bruised up playing against Gretzky either. Doesn't change the fact that he was a great player.

Spezza produces, and he's vastly improved his defensive game. The lazy penalties are annoying though.

A PMD is our biggest need right now, but the problem is we have a few big holes to fill and fixing one isn't going to be "the silver bullet" to make us a contender. There's only so much Murray can really do this season.

Anyways, the Clarke quote is exactly what I have been saying forever, Spezza is not a hard player to play against.

I suppose. But at what cost. If we acquire J-Bo and there is noone else reliable to score other than the big 3, are we that much further ahead offensively?

I *REALLY* don't want to part with our pick in this draft. Even with the acquisition of J-Bo, we may not turn the corner, and that would virtually guarantee that we've given away a stud.

It's a catch 22 though. I don't think J-Bo will be around next summer. I think he'll get moved to a team that is a contender or on the verge of contending and will be resigned by said team. Ideally, we ride this season out, and make a pitch for J-Bo in the summer, but I don't know if that worth risking losing him.
