If you're looking for help with your fantasy teams check out this site...http://www.hockeyinformer.com

It's a really good site to discuss fantasy trade proposals, who's hot, who's not, line combo's, starting goalies, and injuries. Good place to go if you have a trade offer and want some feedback.

You can always use a proxy server to get around that stuff...

Make sure you only use it when you need to because it is slower but you can get to sites that are blocked just google "proxy server program"

Tried that route, had some issues.

Google cache works for 99% of sites, but it only sees stuff that has been posted for a while. No good for blogs.

My RSS feed still works, but for James Mirtle for example, it only shows me the first couple sentences and not the whole thing.

I'm not overly worried about it. I'm getting my fix on here Wink

With some sites you could have it blocked for http but not for https (secure HTTP). That lets me get to officepools.com from work, for example (although this year they changed yet again, and while I can get to officepools.com when I login to check the league standings the java script must be popping up an http:// link, and that gets blocked.

Also, some workplace filters block on domain *names* and not IP addresses. You can sometimes lookup the IP address of the host (e.g. www.officepools.com) and then use the IP address in the URL instead of the host/domain.

If that works, then if you have access to your hosts file, could you just edit it, so that you can still enter the URL, but it would be translated internally, and still be seen as just the IP?

I seem to recall from a long time ago a little program that would track your surfing and build a hosts file for you - the idea being that most people tend to use the same 30-40 sites over and over again, so eliminate the need to do a lookup for most surfing. If that isn't still out there, it may be a neat thing to program...

Wow, I didn't think it would be that hard to access. But if you do eventually get to the site the "Main" box in the top right is where you want to go. Click on "forum", then "fantasy hockey". There's a cool thread titled "Buy Low/Sell High". Really helpful when trying to move or aquire under performing players. Hope you eventually get to check it out!

What's really frustrating is I can't access GMHockey from my home computer. It gives me password errors, so I can't even check the site from there.

That could prove to be a very useful site for the GM Game. You could go in there and see what kind of response you get for trades before proposing them to the GMs. Nice work. I haven't checked it out yet as I suspect my Work likely has it blocke as well.
