Oh, well, the NHL gets its wet dream. No repeat champs again. Let's see what Lundqvist's really got under the hood.

Rangers can beat the Kings... will they?  I doubt it.

Hopefully we have a good series. That West Conf Final was amazing.

Sick of the Hawks and tired of teams who were losers for years become great. This isn't parity, Bettman. The Rangers need to win now.

I'd say the kings did it right. Nice signings, good trades, one failure year where they get doughty, one year where they got lucky and got Kopitar. I have no ill will there. The rangers are a strange bird. Solid drafting, lucky to get rid of Gomez and get what will be a perennial Norris nominee.

How long ago were the Hawks losers? They were bad for about 4 years in the early 2000s, but it isn't like they Edmontoned.

Uh...they were a joke for a long, long time.

I went through their draft position for the last 15 years or so. They were bad for a while, but not that long. They've been a very good to elite team for the last several years. Teams are always going to ebb and flow for the most part.

I agree, but there was a significant period of time where (Jacobs I think it was) their owner ran that franchise nearly into the ground. They probably made the Oilers situation look pretty good.

Bill Wirtz. Their home games weren't even televised.  His death + Toews and Kane saved them.

Funny how these teams who are on the brink of complete failure somehow win a lottery eh? Crosby with the Pens, Kane with the Hawks...
