I'm afraifd it's Dash's GDTs. His record must be as bad as mine now.

Shabbs, it's time.

It's because I want to the Sens to draft Yakupov, so my GDT's cause the Sens to magically suck. So, the only right thing to do is to continue to create GDT's in hopes they lose every game from here on out. Still may not be enough to finish worse than Columbus, however.

That's the spirit! Maybe we can suck ourselves right out of a franchise while we're at it! Nod

Clearly I was being funny. If you seriously think that my indirect actions effect the team, then I don't know what to say.

Why wouldn't I want the Sens to draft a franchise player? And your overreaction that them finishing last means relocation/bankruptcy you are also delusional.

Do I want the team to win? Of course. But unless they win the cup, which I don't think they will, then I'd rather they get the next best thing - the best player available.

If they don't have players on the team that are going to help us, and they can't attract star players to sign here, they have to draft them.

Losers will be losers. 0 respect for that kind of attitude. It's really doing NYI well eh? Columbus, LOOK OUT! Florida, oh me oh my, 1o years without a playoff birth.

Yup, drafting the "best player possible" always works, haha. What a joke.

It will be in about 2-3 years when they line up center Strome between Tavares and Neidorreiter (Imo Tavares is an NHL winger). Tell me you wouldn't want Tavares on your team?

It's the trading of a 2nd overall pick and an eventual Norris winner for an eventual buyout, and the picking Dipietro over the eventual Calder winner when Luongo was already in the system (not to mention the trade that got rid of Luongo...)

Proper asset management is what NYI lacks. If we back track to 1998 and use proper asset management with an owner's willingness to spend, they could have iced a line up that looked like this before the lockout even began:

Heatley-Palffy-Bertuzzi
Blake-Spezza-Czerkawski
Bates-Peca-Hunter

Chara-Jonsson
Brewer-McCabe
Berard

Luongo
Osgood

While obviously revisionist, that roster would have been a good bet to come out of the East in 05-06.

The point can be summed up in: they turned Luongo and Palffy into Jeff Tambellini, Denis Grebeshkov, a couple late picks and a couple scrubs within 6 years...

Yeah but if Ottawa actually tanked to draft 1st you would be saying that's "100% the right move by Murray".

The way we've drafted...if we added a Yakupov, we'd be so f-ing good. Dare to dream...

That said, I always want the Sens to win. Tonight would be nice, unexpected, but nice.

Yakupov is sick - saw him live the other night - but I would not want to lose to get him. I actually don't have him as my #1.

Columbus has claimed him anyway

NYI will always be a bunch of losers. Why? Because the organization is full of them from the top down. Losing organizations do one thing well, lose. The Pens, for the record only turned it aorund when Mario came on board, otherwise they wouldn't even be in Pitts. Mario is a winner.

See the nice thing about this comment is Murray would never do that nor would the better GM's in the league. So what's your point here? Don't think you actually had one.

I think there's a point there for sure, we're not gonna be like those other teams who have no direction at all. The Pens bumble****ed their way into some of the most elite talent in the world and won, but the Isles etc. simply didn't have the luxury of their being a Crosby when they sucked - maybe the Isles with Tavares, but he won't be doing it on his own.

It's funny because Murray kind of did that last year but we kept winning instead.

Kind of...but not exactly. He challenged Greening, Condra and Butler to come up and make and fight for their NHL lives + he also acquired a high level goalie - which went against the tank.

Those guys are good and all - but they aren't elite. How do you get elite players? Well you either draft them (which means winning the lottery) or in the rare occasion, sign one. But teams rarely let their stars go to free agency.

I challenge anyone to name someone on the Sens drafted in the last 10 years that compares to RNH, Hall, Tavares, Stamkos, Kane...

Ottawa... where high level goalies come to die.
