Nazem Kadri, who will make his NHL regular season debut tonight, received a two game suspension from the AHl following an incident vs. Adirondack in which he was assessed a game misconduct for a slashing penalty.

Isn't there precedent of the NHL upholding a suspension from a lower league?

I thought it was the other way around... but I had thought of it. So, Toronto (Leafs) COULD keep him in the NHL for the rest of the year and he would avoid the suspension in the AHL Sarcasm

Can you imagine, he comes up, plays well and sticks around. Then, a couple of years later, coming off an injury he gets sent down for a conditioning stint, and sits in the pressbox.

I heard Jim Thomson on the Team 990 earlier today talking about Ron Wilson. He concluded the interview by saying that the Leafs will go nowhere with Wilson and that he wouldn't last the season.

He mentioned that he ruined Oleg Tverdovsky who, in Thomson's estimation, should have been the "next Paul Coffey". Thomson says he likes Wilson as a person but that he has "no respect" for him as a coach.

Looks like the Leafs are going to try Kadri at center on the top line now...

Not many other options for Ron Wilson these days...

is the 'Fire Wilson' bandwagon filling up? or do they still think he's the perfect coach to develop young players? Laugh1

Leafs fans just crack me up so much. Pure comedy relief while they were losing on Saturday night at SBP.

I'm just so happy that game was a shoot out because it was easily 2 thirds Leaf fans last game and it would have been embarrassing to hear them cheer had they scored.

Agreed. It's embarrassing enough when they boo Alfie. That infuriates me. Classless.

I was listening to the Fan590 today... man, it is heating up for sure and it's slowly turning to FIRE BURKE as well. Which is surprising cuz he ain't going nowhere. Wilson will be gone before Burke is. Firing Wilson now won't really help anything anyways... they just don't have the talent. If things don't improve after Phaneuf and Armstrong return, there's gonna be a lot of pressure on Burke to dump Wilson and look for someone else. But who's out there? Not much to choose from... maybe wait for Ruff to get canned in Buffalo? Wink Heh heh.

Yeah, a lot of people are saying that Burke Cussed Toronto's future badly. No prospects of note + no 1st round last year + no 1st round this year = Fire Burke sentiment.

that's true. I don't remember so many leafs fans at sbp before, but saturday was just ridiculous. It was only blue and white that I saw, and make no mistake: their chant drowned out our chants handily

GOod thing it was a shutout. Was enjoyable to sing 'na na na hey hey goodbye' while the mass exodus began of leafs fans (we're gonna come back in the 3rd period! you watch! you guys are chokers!!)

I was half-joking but it makes sense. They need a Ruff-type of coach in there. Wilson can't seem to get anything more out of these guys. Ruff is notorious for getting the most out of what he's been given. Who knows.

Imagine if Barry Trotz gets fired. Every coach in the league will be looking over his shoulder.
