Should we be surprised?

Bryan Murray has already talked to Martin Gerber about going to Binghamton on a two-week conditioning stint, which means he won't have to go on waivers just yet. It sounds like Gerber is open to the idea. "He was a real man (about it)," said Murray. "I like this guy a lot. He's a real professional. He just wants to play. He understands what we're trying to do here. He's a good man, a good pro. It hasn't totally worked out for him here, as we know, but I can say enough complimentary things about him."

Conditioning Stint = Wait down there until we figure out how to get rid of you.

Maybe Gerber can keep Bingo winning? Who knows...

C.J. Stevenson called the "conditioning stint" prior to the Ranger game. Pay attention to what this guy says in the coming days if you want an early heads-up.

OMG, that avatar is too much. It makes me smile. Smile

About Gerber, I think this was the most respectful thing he could do for him rather than waiving him. It's a little less of an insult, IMO. Gerber's a really nice guy, a great professional. Just not good enough to be in the NHL anymore. (not even as a backup really) This "stint" could give him some new found confidence.

Gerber has about $2 million reasons to report and just go through the motions the remainder of the year. I heard first hand Gerber saying he has made the easiest $10 million of his life here. Let's just finish off this bad signing and move forward.

He will be good for Bingo though and who knows what it can do for him.

Riding the buses and playing down in Bingo won't be nearly as easy as the first 10 million he's "earned" here.

It isn't that bad either.

Why? He has a contract. A buy-out would be better for him - no need to go to work, but still gets paid.
