I thought he went hard into the boards (like Gonchar in last year's playoffs) and separated his shoulder, but SLAM has it listed as "facial lacerations":
http://scoreboards.canoe.ca/merge/tsnform.aspx?c=canoe&page=nhl/injury/injury.htm

OTTAWA SENATORS - Left Wing Nick Foligno (12/24, facial laceration) is
questionable for Saturday's game against Calgary. Defenseman Anton Volchenkov
(12/24, facial laceration) is questionable for Saturday's game against
Calgary. Defenseman Filip Kuba (12/23, groin) is out indefinitely. Right Wing
Jesse Winchester (12/17, shoulder) is on injured reserve.

TSN also has both A-Train and Foligno (what's his nickname, anyway?) listed with facial lacerations, so it does not appear to be a typo.

he has a huge nose. I should add that I'm in Sault Ste Marie, and the Sudbury wolves are the Leafs to our Sens. We hated Foligno because he was a Hound killer.

I'm pretty positive that Volchenkov's injury is a shoulder injury, and I have a feeling with the luck we're having, that it's a very serious shoulder injury.

Volchie is listed as doubtful for Tuesday's game against the Oilers. I don't think we'll see Bass again on this road trip. Winchester and Kuba have been put on the IR. Yikes...

Really? Where'd you hear that? My Yahoo! team would very much like an update on Kuba's status...

I was just doing a cruise of the injuries on TSN...

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/injuries/

Jesse Winchester - 2008-12-17 - on injured reserve - shoulder
Filip Kuba - 2008-12-21 - on injured reserve - groin
Anton Volchenkov - 2008-12-29 - doubtful vs Edmonton - upper body
Cody Bass - 2008-12-29 - expected to miss game vs Edmonton - left shoulder

If that's not accurate... then my bad.

Kuba is on IR retroactive to the 21st, so he's eligible to be back New Year's Eve. Winchester is retroactive to the 17th, so he can come back any day. IR just means a minimum of 10 days.

ETA:
According to CBS Sports:

Kuba is questionable for the 30th (if the other site reporting Dec. 21st on the IR is right then he's not eligible for the 30th).

Winchester is listed as "at least late December". We're already in very-late December, so I'd say he's out until some time in January.

A-Train is questionable for the 30th. As far as I know he hasn't been put on the IR. If I was him, though, I'd stay out for a while longer. What's the point of rushing him back until next year, anyway?

Huh. I really would have expected an announcement from BM or CH. And something in the Sun. Placing a guy on IR involves paper work, and usually has implications for when he is eligible to play next (a stay on IR usually means, for instance, at least one full week removed from action). I wonder if TSN has got this right, or if they're just marking injured players as on IR, which are two different things. DTD guys are, for instance, not always put on IR.
