What will you remember most about 2008?

The good-

Nash's goal?
Toews being named captain?
Detroit winning the cup?
Anderson's 53 save shut-out?
Ovechkin's dominating?
Crosby getting hurt?

The Bad?

Avery....just Avery?
Bourdon, Renaud, and Cherepanov's death's?
Pittsburgh going to the Finals?
Sundin's holdout?

2008 was not good to the Sens - we can't get to 2009 fast enough.

Nash was named captain too, although that might have been a little earlier.

I'd say Malkin's emergence was pretty spectacular as well.

Or, from an American stand-point, Patrick Kane and Erik Johnson are giving them something to cheer about.

Chicago coming out of the basement and dominating. Possibly winning the Cup in 2009.

Yeah, I agree, that's probably the best one.

Some others not mentioned are Gaborik's 5 goal game, Alfredsson's 7 point night and Carey Price's emergence.

Couldn't quickly come up with any of my own, but Alfie's 7 point night to take over the scoring race heading into the AllStar break was the positive story of the year for me. On the negative side of the ledger, the Sens' fall from grace is a close third behind Zednick's injury and Cherpanov's death.

LOL!! HAts off to Denny and Beer... I couldn't agree more!!

Alfie's 7 point night was a classic, and seeing Malkin emerge during Crosby's absence was good as well.

The bad, the latter half of the Sens season (YUCK), Bourdon's death for sure as living out east and considering it happened about 2 hours away from me was awful, and of course, Avery's aerobic workout in front of Brodeur... for starters.
