NOTE: Game is at 3:00pm!!!

The Sens host the Rangers this afternoon at The Bank looking to snap a 6-game losing streak. The Sens have been struggling to find the back of the net and have posted two shoot-out losses in a row. Vancouver lit up the Rangers on Wed. 6-3 so they'll be looking to forget that. The Sens will be missing Fisher and Neil for several weeks and Shannon remains out with his concussion.

From TSN's Ice Chips: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?id=11009

Dean McAmmond did not skate (head cold) on Friday, but is expected to play Saturday against the Rangers. Also, Ryan Shannon (concussion) skated at the end of practice. Alex Auld will start again on Saturday. - TSN

Practice Lines

Forwards:
Heatley - Spezza - Alfredsson
Vermette - Kelly - Winchester
Ruutu - Donovan
Foligno - Bass - Zubov

Defence:
Phillips - Volchenkov
Picard - Kuba
Smith - Bell
Richardson - Schubert

Goaltender:
Auld
Gerber

Starting Goalies as per goaliepost.com: http://goaliepost.com/

Ottawa: Auld (firm)
Rangers: Valiquette (firm)

Black and Blue Report:

RANGERS: C Scott Gomez (ankle), questionable.
SENATORS: C Mike Fisher (knee), 2-4 weeks; RW Chris Neil (leg), 4-6 weeks; RW Ryan Shannon (post-concussion), out indefinitely

I have to say I have been encouraged by the Sens' play over the last two games. Certainly a lot better than at the beginning of this losing streak. Let's hope today is the day they take it over the top and get the win.

Game is on CBC,MSG (HD).

GO SENS GO!!!

I'm putting on my jersey as we speak. A red day. A sword day.

I'll get my daughter to wear her Sens jersey during the game.

The POWER of the jersey will get us the WIN!

My cousin won on the Team 1200 yesterday 4 tickets to today's game and will recieve the first 3rd jersey by a fan, signed by the whole team. I'm so jealous. LOL! She is 2 rows behind the bench.

I have no evidence to back this up, but, don't the Sens suck in afternoon games? Over the years I've noticed that their record for afternoon games is similar to their shootout and 5 on 3 records; meaning, no good! I could be wrong though.

Here's hoping they pull out a win!

I'm pretty excited for a few reasons:

1. Hopefully Redden gets booed.
2. Hopefully the third jersey gets booed.
3. Hopefully Redden gets jeered.
4. We've been slowly playing better.
5. It's about time we broke out and demolished someone.

Throw all records and streaks out the window. None if them matter. The 'staches are getting longer and powerful every day. They may not win today, but 'stache power (TM) cannot be denied forever.

I've been booing him since 10AM. And I usually don't boo players. I can only remember booing Lindros (after the hit on Dackel), Hull (for selling out his country) and Yashin.

I'm worried that the Rangers will break out of their slump and pound on Ottawa. How many more losses are needed for the management to step in?

I will always boo John Muckler and Glen Sather for overpaying Redden before I boo the player. He was a part in their underachieving last year, but he was also a big part of the team making the playoffs in every one of his professional seasons. The team has never made the playoffs without Redden in the lineup.

How many backup goalies are the Sens going to face this year?

I think the Sens have figured out how to play defence for Hartsburg, they just haven't figured out how to play offence in that system.

Loss today = trade on Monday.

Hope I'm wrong, but 3-2 Rangers is my call.

I have to agree with you. NYR were pummeled by Vancouver on Thursday and maybe looking to right their ship.

I think the Sens have a bit more on the line to get beat out by a team that had just a bad loss, rather than a bad start to the season.
