2018 Playoffs

I don’t care if it slows the game down, coaches should be able to challenge everything the refs get wrong. At least the game would be accurate. Also, refs need to be held more accountable.

NHL refs are nowhere near as bad as CFL. But I feel in both situations reviews have made them now reluctant to make the close calls. When the last time you saw pass interference called on a close play that wasn't the result on a coach's challenge?

It clearly looks like the refs don't want to make a call because they figure the coaches will just challenge of there should have been a call and the replay review will do the rest.

I'd like to see referee-initiated reviews where they admit that they aren't sure and want to take a second look. Either that or give coaches way more than 1 review per game (in the CFL they don't keep the review even if they get it right).

I don’t watch the CFL, but I wouldn’t expect them to have good officating.

That’s the Vegas that can win a Cup this year.

There's no good solution to the refereeing problem. These sports are incredibly difficult to officiate. And then if you open things up to more video review, it slows the game down and there's no guarantees that the "right" call will be made because things can still be subjective or still unclear via replay.

I agree there is no easy answer.

Just get Washington to the Cup finals please. Doesnt matter who they face, Vegas would be ideal, but Winnipeg would be a nasty, fast, punishing final.

Looks like the Caps have been reading the papers about how great they were. A bit of a rude awakening tonight. I think that will serve them well as a reminder to never take their opponent for granted.

Game is not over. No lesson needed. Worst case scenario they are still up 2-1 and did it without Backstrom. Gravy.

yeah, it's over. And lesson is clearly needed as they were not playing with the same intensity as the first 2 games). Maybe the home cooking. Yes, they are still up 2-1, and only a 2 or 3 teams have come back from losing the first two at home.

Goalies steal games sometimes. PP work sometimes. Washington deserved better tonight. At this point, I think OV looks like he will take the reigns and ensure a victory in the series. He’s playing possessed. Backstrom would help though. Kuznetsov and OV combined had 2 less shots then the entire Tampa team tonight.

I think Washington blew their chance big time. Don't let a great team like TB off the mat, now...matters are tough.

Backstrom just got back. Give it time. 3 games left.

Washington outplayed them both games. Shots were 27-9 at one point. That's 3x!

I still think Washington is the better team and will win but TB is getting the timely goals and big saves right now. Sometimes, that’s enough to steal a series.

I’m loving it. Fleury is on a high and the team is firing. Most exciting team to watch and the players just love their system that supports creativity.

Man...when Fleury is on he's amazing. Unreal.

It’s amusing to watch him be so aggressive and committiting that he has to do some sort of Houdini magic to get back and make the next save. I don’t know how he does it. Now that not a style that can last into his late 30’s like Anderson’s.
