Crazy game 1 in the books. Here's hoping for more of the same for the rest of the series.

I know the penalties evened out in the end but I remember when that boarding penalty was called and my immediate thought was that they were just waiting to call something against the Caps. Not that the penalty was bogus (although the guy was already turning and getting up while still falling, if you can understand what I just said), so it was just a little arm push. Certainly not vicious. But there was nothing called on a lot of slashes up to that point in time. And of course Reeves getting away with a few cross checks before his goal.

Holtby will have to be better, too.

Same thing on the have tonight. Elbow on the head is missed, but when Neal hits himself on the chin with his glove they call a minor.

Holtby was better.

Losing Kuznetsov is a big ouchie, though.

Very happy that Washington was able to push back. I love it. Go Caps. Go Knights.

That save Holtby made with a couple minutes left in the third might've saved the series for the Caps. I'm glad that they've made it competitive.
