The Senators continue their longest road trip of the season with a stop at the MTS Place to play the Division leading Jets. Ottawa broke their 7 game losing streak as well as their scoring drought with an exciting 6-5 win over the Islanders -- their first regulation home loss this season.

Thomas Chabot played a regular shift and responded with his first NHL goal and two assists. Also scoring their first goals were Smith and Ryan, Bobby's goal being a carom off his skate. Dzingel led the way with 2 goals, and Karlsson was kept off the score sheet for the 8th straight game.

Needless to say, the Senators will need their Captain to be an offensive driver if they are to climb back into a playoff spot. Although Chabot's better than 1 PPG pace is impressive, it's not going to continue. And don't expect Dzingel to put up two goals, either. Duchene is another player who is expected to produce significantly more than he has up to now.

Ryan took a nasty slash midway through the third age there is a chance he may miss. Nobody has been recalled yet, so if Bobby can't go we will likely see 7D dressed again.

Go Sens!

Condon confirmed as the starter. He is 1-3 lifetime vs the Jets.

Karlsson's pointless streak (8 games) is the longest of his career.

I really, REALLY like the jets team. This will be a very difficult challenge. If there is any possibility of a weak link in the Jets it will be goaltending. So they better try and score early and score lots because I expect the jets will also. I wouldn’t take any bets on winning this game

Hellebuyck wasn't great last game. Hopefully that continues.

No lineup changes. Ryan will play. But he (and others) are a little banged up.

Good for Boucher for starting Condon. Hate playing the Jets. Hate it.

I've been helping my daughter study for a programming test so I've missed the (apparent) carnage. How bad have Ceci and Oduya been? Is it really their fault that the Sens have 2 shots on goal versys 16?

Wow, unexpected that they're bad this year. Really surprising. Nothing positive at all right now, not sure what's going on. Not sure if the season'sin jeopardy yet, but something has gone wrong with this team. Basically since losing Turris.

Very Cussed up. Unwatchable team. Which is good, I have a lot of stuff to do these days and time is precious. Not gonna break a leg watching 3 hours of this his crap every second night.

Looks like maybe the team wasn't too happy about losing such a key part and standup guy?

If that’s really the reason than they need to suck it up and be professional. It’s part of the game.

I think the real reason is that we did overachieve playing under the system last year. The book is out on the Sens and we can’t duplicate that this year, teams are ready. Things will have to change. We relied on karlsson being godly and now he’s just awesome. We likely need a top 4 D man and another top 6 forward to be a contender. Is that gonna happen? Unlikely.

More worriesome is that slowly it seems karlsson is showing signs of wanting to leave the org.

I dont see those signs at all, but if he keeps it up then the org should show signs of moving in from him.

As Prags said, it was nice to get it over with early so I could watch something else. There is just nothing working for the team right now and it's sad to watch.
