If Montréal craps the bed and misses the playoffs he'll hear all about it alright!
Im kind of hoping they lose radulov now. Would be a nice kicker.

I think that's probably a foregone conclusion at this point.
Hard to say, it's not necessary to sign him before the expansion draft. They'd have to protect him.

Radulov is going to want a mega deal. He will get it if Plekanec is picked up by Vegas.

But Mtl still doesn't have a #1 center and if Plekanec goes they don't have a #2 center, and if Galchenyuk goes they don't have a #3 center.

They are also down a d-man with the Sergachev trade with an old Markov and ageing Weber.

The Drouin trade made no sense for Montreal aside from bringing in a young French forward to appease Habs fans. IMO the Habs took a big step back with that trade. They need a #1 center. Duchene should have been their target.

They may still get duschene. IMO this was a trade to replace Galchenyuk who's getting shipped.

Montreal got better with that trade. Sergachev played, what, four games? Huge unknown at this point, certainly not ready to replace someone in the top four. This team needs scoring.

But they also need a center. This it's a short term move from a GM who won't be around much longer if he doesn't do something *now*. He has no qualms about mortgaging the future because if he doesn't, he won't be around to have to make the payments. Clearly the wrong move for the franchise but a move that Bergevin had to make. Big gamble. More gambles to come. Could be a huge fail.

What happens if Price gets hurt? Lottery pick. What if Danault has a sophomore slump? Markov blows out his knee? Weber plays the whole season like the second half? Radulov leaves and Kovie sucks?

I really hope they don't wind up getting their number 1 center and do trade Galchenyuk. If that happens it's just threading in water.
The talk I hear in Montreal is they might make Drouin play C. Not a good idea.

With montreal trading beaulieu they are starting to look bad on the D. Beaulieu played 15 min or higher most games. Markov is getting older and slowing down. their best D prospect well they traded him away. they are going to have to sign some FA or make some trades and soon

I know. But Bergie is 1 for 2 in Russian reclamation projects. Better odds than most of his picks and trades. Wouldn't surprise me.

If Galchenyuk is moved then Radulov can ask for the moon. They need all the offense they had last year plus Drouin. Plekanec will continue to decline. Byron is unlikely to repeat. They have not improved puck movement from the back.

Bergevin is going to have to make more moves mortgaging the future. When he is eventually fired, they won't need a GM right away because they won't have any picks left.

I love how all habs fans right now in Montreal are saying their sarcastic goodbyes to plekanec. I look at that list and I see Hudson and Davidson getting picked before plekanec. I'm going to laugh so hard if that happens. They are hoping to get stuck with his cap hit and blame that fiasco on why they don't wind up brining back Radulov

Apperently the isles made a deal with Vegas to not pick a forward in exchange for their 1st rounder. Then they protected 5 D. Laugh1
Swave move Snow! I guess the knights will pick De haan

If I was McPhee I'd rather overspend on someone like Ryan than Plekanec. Hudon is there Habs' next best prospect. They are going to be so screwed in a couple years. They may have no choice but trade Price.

Yeah. I think the habs fans are pipe dreaming if they think plek is getting picked up. Everything the habs are doing right now is to win now. Unfortunately I don't think they had the assets to go all in.
They'll likely resign price but maybe they wind up trading him a few years from now.

Is he, though? Wasn't very long ago we were questioning his health and commitment when he had that hip issue that went on day to day for a month. He hasn't been using his hip check very much the last couple of years. Wonder if that's related.

It's clear that Phaneuf/Ceci is the shutdown pairing on this team. Methot's game has been reduced to staying back while Erik does his thing. It's reflected in his offensive stats (playing with Erik should give you some easy points just bring in the ice).

Methot may have been worth his salary for the Sens when signed (Karlsson was comfortable playing with him and he was a tough guy to play against) but I'm not sure he's worth that on another team, and since his play has changed.

Looking at the list of available players, Vegas isn't going to be very good initially. A lot will be left up to the free agents they can sign and other trades they can make. They will have at least 3 to 4 first rounders from the sound of it, so there's nothing stopping them from flipping one or two of those for quality players. I haven't done any mock drafts, but I wonder how easy it is for them to hit the cap floor by just drafting the best team they can, or if they actually need to worry about picking guys with bigger cap hits?
