We said the same thing about Lazar's intangibles.wprager wrote:I also find that White is the kind of player whose intangibles come through against tougher competition. I just don't think Team USA is particularly strong this year so I don't expect them to go very far. And if that turns out to be the case, then we won't see much of note from White.

The best we can do with Lazar at this point is trade him to Edmonton after the expansion draft. He's buddy-buddy with McDavid and played his best hockey as an Oil King. We may be able to get someone like Tyler Pitlick for him but even that's a stretch. Actually, seeing what they traded Hall for, we may be able to get Eberle for Lazar

Seems like just yesterday fans were scoffing at the idea of trading Lazar. In fairness, no one could have imagined how useless he has turned out. Well... almost no one...

Like many here I was an optimist but I remember speaking with some friends about the idea of trading him after the World Juniors. When he didn't dominate there playing with McDavid I began to worry.
IMO: he's not fast, he doesn't have a great shot, he's not big, he doesn't have good on-ice vision, he's got average hands, and he gets pushed around on the ice. He has heart, a good attitude, and he's a good defensive player. In the NHL those 'intangibles' don't land you a job for too long. The Sens will qualify him (and protect him) but down the road this may end up being a bad decision to do so.
I'd look at moving him. Again, EDM seems like the most logical place. What we get back for him would be anybody's guess. Â

Found out this morning that it was still sitting on his drafts folder. Anyone want to claim it let me know. I'm headed over there at around 5.

No, but Boro skated a faster lap than Lazar. Not by much, but that was surprising.SeawaySensFan wrote:wprager wrote:Freddy Claesson with 106.9 mph - a new team record. Wow.
Phaneuf wins fastest skater?
