Sometimes Zib and Hoffman can look so tantalizing.

Ya But don't you feel like trading them could be an exciting mistake? Don't ya? It will be fun!!!

Whatever happens they better make the team better. Of course no heads will roll if not... Cuz Murray will be stepping down anyways.

It sure doesn't sound like Murray's stepping down.

Sure sounds like they'll have another new "old" face in the front office though. Chris Phillips suited up on the ice, posed for some pictures, gave away a stick to a STH, high-fived all the players coming off the ice with Chris Neil being the last one, who gave him a big hug.

I know we've all know this for a while, but it sure looked real. Interesting question posed by Mendes this morning -- can you name another first-overall pick who played over 1,000 games and retired having played for just one team?

Looked it up. The last one was Dennis POtvin ('73 draft). Also Gilbert Perreault ('70). Rejean Houle only played for one NHL club (Habs) but he also played a few seasons in the WHA for the Nordiques.

There are several more candidates but they have not been in the league long enough to get 1000 games: Ovechkin is at 760, Crosby is over 600, Kane getting close to 600. Ovechkin may be moved if they don't do something this off-season but the other are likely lifers.

Are you saying Jason Phillips fired, Chris Phillips in?
I'm not sure Phillips is our best bet for coaching kids to be great d-men.

Jason Smith. Also, Chris Phillips should not be our D coach.

I think Jason Smith and the rest of the coaching staff is gone line the snow in my driveway. If any of the coaches survive it would be Cameron (he never did get to pick his assistants).

What I meant was that Phillips will be offered some kind of role in the front office when he retires. I'd rather have an experienced guy coaching, though. He could be a special PK consultant or something like that, and he can certainly be a non-specific assistant coach.
