Detroit is 3rd in the Atlantic, 93 points with 2 games to go. Boston is 2 points back, with 2 to go but is 2 ROWs behind the Red Wings. Boston hosts the Red Wings tonight, after Detroit defeated the Flyers at home last night. Tired team, but then Boston has been playing terrible of late. Even if they beat the tired Wings in regulation, they would still be behind them in the standings because of the ROWs.
The Flyers, after losing 3-0 in Detroit last night, travel to Toronto. Tired or not, that should be a W and they will be rooting for the Red Wings; if Detroit beats Boston (regulation or not) then the Flyers will pass the Bruins in the standings for that last Wildcard spot. Flyers have a game in hand as well.
After tonight's games the Bruins stay at home to host the Senators on Saturday. That will be their last regular season game. Nothing I'd love more than for the Sens to deal them a deathblow at home. Get Julien fired so he can come "home" and fix the Senators. Meanwhile, the Flyers come back home to host the non-fliers, as in Penguins, the flightless birds. And the Red Wings travel to NYC to face the Rangers.
If it's not all settled by Saturday night, then the Flyers travel to Brooklyn to face the Islanders on the last day of the regular season, Sunday night. That's a lot of games -- four in five nights. But don't worry, if they don't win they'll have lots of time to rest up.
