So one main hockey media guy has written an article about the unsealed emails, and its sole purpose is to try and deflect blame back on former players.

http://nypost.com/2016/04/02/nhl-emails-show-players-need-to-watch-their-backs/?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=site%20buttons&utm_campaign=site%20buttons

I hope people realize that the NHL has obviously issued a gag order to the media about discussing these unsealed emails in any way that paints the NHL negatively. Now other MSM hockey guys are retweeting this article. This is kind of terrifying with the way they are trying to control the message.

Anyway, I've made a reddit post about it and hope to gain some traction here to bring more light to this: https://www.reddit.com/r/nhl/comments/4d6g79/media_and_the_nhls_unsealed_emails/

First, what's a "reddit"?

Second, there's no way Bettman has sway over the entire media.

What's up with all these blood clots? Something seems amiss.

Read some of the emails. The media depends on the NHL execs responding to them for info/scoops. So obviously the media don't want to piss the NHL off. Bettman tells them to shut it, I think they shut it. Also, read Brooks' article and tell me it doesn't smell weird.

Depends on your definition of media. First, not every one writes for TSN or SNet or anything with "Sports" in it and, second, even some that do have aspirations that go beyond sports.

Ran the score up 6-0 then were clinging on for dear life as the Bruins stormed back to 6-4. But the levee didn't break.

Still, huge question marks heading to the playoffs. For both teams, if Boston manages to make it in.

In the olden days Mark Napier would have gotten a severe beating.

I'm not so sure about that. If you listen to podcasts, you'll hear all about it. I originally thought the same, but I've noticed that there's lots of talk (from media) on twitter and TONS on radio/podcasts. The articles are starting to come out, too (e.g., Cullen included it in his "Top 10 Storylines" piece and I think Westhead or Seravalli had an article as well).

Westhead isn't hockey media from what I can tell. There is some coverage, but they generally ignore the torrid unprofessionalism from the NHL execs. To include something like this in a "Top 10 Storyline" is great, obviously it's a storyline, but there doesn't seem to be much critical analysis of the NHL. I have yet to see one article where a hockey reporter takes the NHL to task for remarks made by Campbell, Murphy, etc, from the NHL's front office.

PP in OT and they still ended up losing. Facepalm

Seriously, when is the last time they beat USA? It's been a while.

BREAKING!

The @CanadiensMTL have announced that Carey Price and P.K. Subban won't play again this season.

I wonder if Price will play or be allowed to play in the World Cup?

I can only assume Price will be playing in the World Cup. It's not until September. Montreal might look on that favourably too seeing as Price would get a bunch of games in and be that much more "in the groove" when the NHL season starts in October.

Obviously it all depends on the specifics of his medical case.

If I was Team Canada I'd just pick someone else. I'm pretty sure there will be pressure from the Habs management to *not* push his knee in a meaningless tournament. It's one thing injuring it while trying to get your team to the playoffs, but if I was with the Habs I'd tell him in no uncertain terms to not push it too much.

Wait. You wouldn't pick the best goalie on the planet as one of your three goalies?
