He's played 1.3 years so far. He's 20.

I realize, but I would have thought there'd be a little more offense - even at this stage of his young career.

It was Smith and Cameron is not making changes.

damn it, no lineup changes apart from hammond. Why is cowen not being benched? Caps are best in the east right now.

Just checked the stats on the players (forwards) drafted immediately after:
Rychell: 49 games, 6 assists
Mantha: 0 games
Sinkaruk: 1 game, no points
McCarron: 0 games

The names after that I didn't even recognize.

So the only anomaly, really, is the number of games played. He should have been in the minors and until they change it, yes, that means spending one more year in junior.

B. Murr talked about how internally they were really debating whether to send Lazar down to bingo to get his confidence sorted, but coaching staff and teammates don't want him to leave.

Cameron said himself yesterday that it's not Lazar's job to produce points. He doesn't expect any offensive production out of young Curtis. These were his actual words.

Smith was really solid up on that top line. I've heavily criticized Smith in the past, but he's been solid this year.

If that's the expectation I guess all is well then. And then some!

It seems like a weird thing to say about a forward, but if that's the expectation, then it explains why Lazar is still in the NHL. I'm pretty sure if we dug up some quotes from training camp, we'd be under a different impression.

I don't understand the aversion to playing Lazar in the A. Who cares? He'll be a good player, most people agree that he'll be a natural leader and should put up some decent points, but wouldn't it be better if he was playing 18 minutes a night in the A and finding his offence?

I guess they know what they're doing. Hopefully he has another good game tonight, because I agree with Ev, he was very good last game vs LA.

Well maybe Cameron needs a solid two way player like lazar to do the defensive work. But it maybe is not Cameron's job to think about how this is limiting his development offensively. That's BM's job and maybe he should make the decision to ship him to the A regardless of what Cameron says or thinks.

Yeah, it really is on BM. From Cameron's pov, the team is doing great offensively (wasn't it top five in goals per game?) and Lazar is not hurting the team defensively.

Jared Cowen just gave up a breakaway for no particular reason.

I wish people would shut up about shots. How many of these shots are actually dangerous? Not many
