Can someone explain to me how the heck the Penguins turned Sutter and a 3rd into Bonino and a 2nd, not to even mention Clendening?

Yeah, don't like this one, either, from VAN's point of view. Bonino is at least as good as Sutter.

Not only is he pretty much on par, he's 1.4 million cheaper and signed to an extra year. And then they downgrade a 2nd into a 3rd for Dung and giggles - AND they give the Pens an AHL all-star D-man who is only 22. Vertigo

Benning might be going full challenged, we should try to pry Edler out of there. Might only cost Chiasson and a 4th Sarcasm

I don't get what they are doing in Vancouver either, I guess having a Sutter there is too much to pass up. There's a player who has been living off his last name for a long time now.

Probably adding Eric Fehr had something to do with it.

That's the cherry on top, they cleared enough salary to get Bonino and Fehr. Sometimes I just don't get NHL GMs, but clearly they love Sutter.

Montreal West, without the best goalie in the game.

I dunno...I feel like the Habs have made some smarter decisions lately.

They really don't have to make any moves since acquiring DSP. That is one studly beast right there. Highly coveted by Sens fans.

Flyers lock up Couturier to 6 years and $26M (reported, but unconfirmed).

Did you see the three body checks he threw during the Sens/Habs series? Incredible. Truly a playoff performer.

$1.1M for a guy who'll score either 6 or 30 goals for them. Pretty much a can't lose move.

(looks around, doesn't see SSF in sight)

Good add for the Philthydelphia Phlyers.

Unless he drags their top 6 down with his Kovaloafish ways...which would be excellent.

Or if he does this. This would also be excellent.

Bernier offered the lowest amount possible in arbitration by Leafs.....85% of original salary. So his salary was $3.4M last season, and leafs are offering $2.89M on a 1 year deal.

As much as I thought sens were low-balling hoffman, it seems pretty apparent this is all very strategic and not part of some diabolical budget that most people think of.

For the record, I think having a budget is a good thing.

Turris deal is the best in the NHL. Hands down, not close.

Or karlssons. Turris took the safe route with his contract.
