Ha, there's a lot of things that go into a prospect. For example, Gaudreau was in Boston College at Lazar's age, not the NHL. Does that make a big difference? Who knows. Gaudreau is being played in top 6 minutes - or top line minutes - by Hartley, which makes a huge statistical difference as well, while Lazar has been all over the bottom six.

I'm not arguing that Lazar has the offensive potential Gaudreau has, but I think it's fairly safe to say and see that Lazar will be an impact player going forward - perhaps not a 30 goal guy, but a very, very strong 20 goal guy who can be an important part of a Cup team, and an important part of the Senators - and that's really all I care about.

How can anyone argue that Condra, Pageau and Lazar have been amazing anyway? Which is exactly what I wrote. That line has been amazing, they've forechecked hard, they'd played hard and they've put up points. Because of that they've been rewarded with 3rd line minutes, but for the last 10 games or so, they've outscored the Zibanejad line, so are they really the third line?

Well said. I think the key here is patience. I don't think anyone needs to be afraid to admit that Lazar is nothing special right now. Or to admit that he probably got a free pass into the NHL while guys like Pageau, Prince and Puempel had to wait for injuries to get called up. Patience, friends. Patience.

Sorry, you're right. He was drafted by the Sens, then the Winterhawks, played 7 games for the Sens then got sent down to Portland where he killed it en-route to the Memorial Cup. Blew out his knee in game 4 of the Mem Cup Finals (which the Hawks eventually won).

Haha nothing at all. Amazes me a team can be held to 16 shots and someone says one of the D men wasn't good or even played poorly. Wiercioch has been fine other than the odd poor game like against NYR where he and Ceci struggled.

We won't discuss what D man is only surviving at this point and even that's a stretch.
