He's out. Sorry for the false alarm, old friend.

No lineup changes from previous game.

Not shocked about Cowen but poor Greening can't catch a break. Plays his best game of the season and hasn't seen a game since. I've been less than impressed with Puempel so far. Guess they figure Greening is on his way out anyway.

Don't think they wanted to take Puempel out, he took a bad penalty but he was finishing his hit and it's tough to tell him one thing and expect another. Peumpel IMO is also being show cased for a trade this summer.

Nope, this coach actually has a clue.

I'm surprised he didn't want some meat in the lineup with Greening and Cowen, but this is an interesting message to the team. Keep playing YOUR game, which is pretty heavy, and don't worry about who you're playing.

No reason for any of the D men to come out at this point, he's playing his best 7 guys. Wiercioch/Ceci have been close to perfect together, Methot/Karlsson aren't going to be touched, Boroweicki/Gryba is all the meat you need on the back end and have been great together.

Fact is Cowen could very well be the #7 D man now and there's no reason to force a guy into the lineup who hasn't played in 3 weeks. Tough break but he only has himself to blame.

How have Wiercioch/Ceci been close to perfect if they were benched in the entire third period?

Coach didn't want to play the pairing, he wanted Gryba and Boroweicki out there, Wiercioch/Ceci being sat had very little to do with their play and it almost cost the Sens the win IMO.

Either way if you can't look at that group of D and not come to the conclusion Cowen is #7 then you are delusional. Cowen may or may not be "awful" and that's not what's being debated. He isn't better than the 6 guys there right now.

This is all Cowen's own mess so tough luck for him.

You don't play your second pairing only one minute in the third period without their play being the cause. They didn't have confidence in them.

Ceci has had a tough time containing guys one on one lately and also with the pace of some games (really noticeable against Anaheim and Calgary).

I don't hate him at all. I think he's a sure thing to be a Top 4 on even the best teams in the NHL. I don't think he's that right now and I think he could have used a lot more time in the AHL.

I call it as I see it and that rubs some the wrong way. And I am, of course, right, as usual.

WP Rager and his Texas Instruments calculator beg to differ, old friend.

Nope. Don't care about odds of making since I'm not betting on anything.

Need a regulation win here, although a non-regulation win still shaves off 1 point and we still have 1 game in hand.

Bruins are playing the third game in four nights. Surely they'll be tired. But it looks like Detroit were thinking the same and gave up 50 shots to them.

Would you trade a win to a long-term injury to Marchand?

I think the fact that the Bruins are playing the third game in four days and also had two traveling days in there may have had something to do with the decision. Big and tired likely means not very fast. They still have fast players but they are not the big hitters.

I think the results are pretty indicative of them being wrong.
